Ideas for fruit, veggies, etc?

Hello!

We're doing a dessert reception. There will be a make-your-own sundae bar along with brownies and cheese cake, as well as a catered coffee bar with baristas.

However, we'd like to make the typical things like fruit, veggies, cheese and crackers, etc. available for our guests, so they don't get too sweetented out.

So, I'm looking for suggestions - what form should we serve them in? I feel like a bunch of trays is kind of boring, but I'm not too creative in that area. Got any grand ideas?

TIA

Re: Ideas for fruit, veggies, etc?

  • Pinterest has a ton of ideas! You could use small cookie cutters to cut fruits, veggies, and cheeses into different shapes. I've seen a lot of people do the DIY edible arrangements. Another thing I've seen a lot of is carrots and celery in a shot glass with ranch dressing on the bottom. Hope this helps! :)
  • I am not sure there's a "different" way to do this that guests will actually care about but....

    1) What about veggie/cheese "kabobs" to be a little easier to grab?
    2) Add a fondue station or two?
    3) Add some yummy dips like warm spinach artichoke dip, etc.?
  • I agree that you could just do a few platters of nicely arranged fruits and such.  Maybe add some dips for veggies and fruits.  If you want to go a little more, the idea of kabobs are a good one, albeit a bit time consuming.
