An article on keeping your last name (theknot.com is mentioned)

Were any of you polled in this? This article is kind of "eh". I kept mine just because i'm lazy and it seems like a hassle to change everything (credit cards, bank acct, ss card, etc). However, the phone is in my name and it's hilarious when telemarketers call the house and ask for Mr. Footballwife LOL!

  • very interesting article. I will be taking my honeys last name. Also you made me literally lol with the Mr. Football wife thing:)
  • I didn't give much thought  to changing my name. Maybe it is the traditionalist in me, but I've never felt some kind of way about taking my future husband's name. For a while I played with the idea of hyphenating, but then I was like..."That's just too much to say, what a mouthful." lolz.

  • I'm going to keep my name and take his eg. Nae Carter Staggs. I learned this trick from a girlfriend. It's like hypenating w/o the hyphen. That way, legally I'll have the option of using Nae Staggs or Nae Carter Staggs where/when I see fit (mostly for business, I work as an independent consultant).

  • Interesting article, I was  thinking about keeping my last name for publishing purposes because hyphenating it will be a mouth full.

  • Very interesting article.  I took my hubby's last name (he wouldn't have it any other way) and kept my maiden name as my "middle" name.
