Friday!!

Someone please insert a dancing gif, I'm on TK mobile.

Going for sushi for lunch and then pedicures after work with another friend! I'm starting to figure out how to keep myself busy while FI is out of town. For Saturday I'm doing wedding stuff with my stepmom and then driving 2 hours to see FI and spend the night in a hotel. Nothing exciting, it's THAT week, but still nice to have a night with him since he can't come home.

Hooray for friday!  Nothing too exciting for me today.  I am going to treat myself to a facial tomorrow.  1 week from today I'm heading home so I'm excited about this.  I have enjoyed this OOT job but I'm ready to be home with FI.

Angel, enjoy your time with your FI! How much longer is he working away? When does he start his new dream job position? What kinds of wedding stuff are you working on this weekend?

TLC yay only a week left, you're in the home stretch! A facial sounds amazing.

I got a call back yesterday for a second interview next week! Post on CC. Between that, finding more excuses to leave work for these interviews, wedding planning and a church event tomorrow I'm helping to coordinate, I'm going a little crazy and been a little stressed out. Saturday I have our event for Single Mom's at church and Sunday I am probably going to work on my cardbox...I think I might use an actual mailbox.

  • Thanks rel! He starts at the new store on June 1st, thank god! We don't do well with distance and he's getting really sick of being in hotels. I'm hoping to find some old ugly pictures at thrift stores with nice frames that I can paint and make into chalkboards. Every place I've gone wants over $40 for a vintage look chalkboard and one lady wanted $30 just to rent them! So I'm going to try to DIY, fingers crossed. I want a big one for the entrance into the ceremony site that will say something like "as two families become one, choose a seat not a side". I also want something small for a table with a picture of my grandma and stepfather with a candle. I'm thinking of using the country song lyrics "we know that you'd be here today, if heaven wasn't so far away". Just something small and low key, but remembering.

Angel--love those ideas! I actually have pretty similar ones and I agree DIY is much better and chalkboard paint is easy!

  • Thanks, one thing to note though is that chalkboard paint does not like to come off skin. LOL! I did little mini chalkboards for our table numbers. I got some little wooden plaques (from Walmart, 87 cents each!) and painted them and then have some mini easels I bought on clearance a few months ago that work perfectly. But I had black all over my hands for about 2 days!

Rel, good luck on your 2nd interview.  That is exciting.
Angel that sounds like cool DIY stuff.  At this point I'm over DIY and I think I am just going to buy a simple card box at Michaels or party city.   This is my call all non responders weekend since our RSVPs were due on May 1st.

  • Angel, I really like the chalkboard idea!  Post a pic of one when you are done, I'd love to see the end result!

Sadly, my Friday isn't going well.  We lost a baby turkey during the night, and my poor soft-hearted H is crushed.    Hopefully the day will improve as it goes along.  We are scheduled to have dinner with friends tonight, so that will be fun.
