Wearing heels during ceremony?

Idk what shoes to wear during the ceremony and reception. I see brides wearing heels but I'm afraid my feet will be in pain during the ceremony. And during the reception with the dancing, what shoes do I wear then?

Re: Wearing heels during ceremony?

  • If your dress is long, you could wear whichever shoes you wish during your reception. I'm wearing a very small kitten heel for ceremony and first dance, and I found grey converse for the reception. A friend wore flipflops under her dress at her reception.

  • How long is your ceremony?  Most ceremonies are pretty short.  I haven't purchased my shoes, but I'm planning to wear  three inch or so heels.  However, I wear heels every day so I'm used to it.

I got these in ivory: http://www.zappos.com/annie-lila-black-micro?ef_id=UUOs7AAAAUUgbnP6:20130506113554:s

I hate wearing heels and my fiancé isn't that much taller than I am so I didn't want to go too high.  I have purple Converse on hand for my reception if these start hurting.  A lot of people are anti-Converse or anything other than a dress shoe for a wedding but so few people see what's under your dress so who cares?  If I have to be on my feet for 10 hours, I'm going to be comfortable.
  • I have a very nice pair of Kate Spade's I bought at zappos, at a great price.

I then bought a pair of flip flops, with a heel the same height.

There is a variety of bridal tennis shoes you can buy.

    My vote is for comfort!
  • I wore heels for all of my pictures and ceremony then changed to flats for the reception.

  • I wore a pair of ivory satin heels for both the ceremony and some pictures.  After about an hour or so standing in my heels I switched to my wedged flip flops from Victoria's Secret.  Thank the lord I bought those wedges.  They were super comfortable and they were the same height as my dressy heels so that I didn't have to worry about my dress dragging.

If you do decide to wear heels for your ceremony and any part of your wedding make sure you have a pair of comfy shoes to change into at any moment.  The last thing you want is having your feet hurt on your wedding day.

  • I wore wedges for the ceremony & reception with gel Dr Sholl's inserts since I realized I wouldn't get to sit down much.  By the after party, I weas ready for my flip flops.

You can wear whatever kind of shoes you want.  If you don't think you'll be comfy in heels, look for flats or wedges.  Just choose your shoes before your dress is hemmed.
  • I think it depends on how comfortable you normally are in heels.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14
