How to involve my 12yr old nephew in the ceremony?

Our nieces and nephews roles are;

Flower Girls; FI's niece, will be 1.5yrs old
My niece, 10yrs old

Ring Bearers; Fi's twin nephews, will be 3.5yrs old

 I really want my nephew to be a part of the ceremony. We're having an outdoor wedding, otherwise the "candle lighter" in a church ceremony would be an option. The only other thing I've thought of is train bearer. I kind of like the idea, except I think that as a 12 year old boy he may be more embarrassed to walk behind me holding my dress than excited. I asked my FI how he would feel at that age being a train bearer. He said he might be embarrassed, but he'd get over it and probably be grateful he was involved in the future. I don't want to do the thing where he walks don't the aisle with a sign that says "Here Comes the Bride" . . . What about usher (jr?) or reader? Any other great ideas?

    He can be an usher, a reader, or a guest.

    Is FI's neice going to hold your niece's hand down the aisle? That seems REALLY young to be a FG.

    A 1.5 year old is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too young to be "involved" in any wedding ceremony.  The most "involvement" she should have is to be in photographs.

    As for your nephew, why don't you ask him what he would like?  He may not want to be in your ceremony at all, and if that's the case, don't pressure him but accept his decision with respect.  If he does, he can be a groomsman, an usher, or a reader.

    And I don't like "Here Comes The Bride" signs either.

    I think the 1.5 year old should sit with her parents.  that's way to young to be in the ceremony. You can still put her in an adorable little dress and take photos. 

    Ask the 12 year old to be an usher or a groomsmen.

    A train bearer?!?! Really? You're serious?

    You'd want your 12 year old nephew to not only carry your dress, but to be in every photo of you walking down the aisle? No thanks.

    I can't imagine ANY 12 year old boy wanting to be a train bearer, and who actually has one of those, anyway?

    Have him escort your grandmothers and your mom to their seats.  He can be their personal escort.

    Please do not ask that poor kid to be a train bearer.

    ETA - another vote for the 1.5 year old to sit with her parents.  That is WAY too young to be involved in the ceremony.
