Hi ladies -
We are back from our honeymoon!!
The week of the wedding was great! I took off from work starting that Wednesday and had all of my last minute items completed by Wednesday evening so I could be stress free! If you can do it, I would highly recommend that the last 2 days of your wedding, you do nothing! It was great not to stress out right before the wedding. I got a massage on Thursday and went out for drinks with friends. My girlfriend Teresa came from Alabama on Thursday afternoon and she was a big help. She was not in the wedding party, but she came down to do whatever I needed her to do. She was a huge help in me being stress free. Friday, we went and got our nails and eybrows done. And then Friday afternoon, we had the rehersal and dinner. We had a few hiccups during the rehersal...one of the groomsmen had to work so he couldn't make the rehersal and another one was late. It had also rained on Friday, but luckily it had stopped raining by the time we had the rehersal since the ceremony was outside! We had the rehersal dinner at Golden Corral since it was nearby. There were about 40 relatives (including the wedding party) that came to the dinner. We had the private room reserved, so it was all good.
Saturday morning was sunny! Thank goodness. Had my hair done that morning and then my girlfriend made me eat lunch because I didn't have breakfast. So make sure you eat something before the ceremony!!
The cake was supposed to be delivered by 4 (ceremony started at 6). While I was at the hair salon, they called and asked what was the earliest time they could deliver, so I told them 3. Why was that cake at venue when I showed up at 2:30? SMH. We get to the room that the reception was going to be held so my coordinators could decorate, and they didn't have the tables set up like I wanted them to. They didn't leave room for the bar that the caterer was bringing in and the tables were all too close together. Needless to say, I was very pissed off about it. The lady that I worked with at the venue had the day off, but I talked to the lady that was there that day, and she said they would fix it. Again, thank goodness for my friend Teresa. She told me that she would oversee everything and to go down and get my makeup done. So I just told her to make it work and I left.
My MUA was great! Thank lscott for the recommendation. If any of you Atlanta ladies need a MUA, I highly recommend Ella Adiar! She is the bomb.com! We did getting ready pics with the photographer.
I was so ready for the ceremony to start. My coordinator told me that one side was not full and asked if I wanted to start on time or wait for people in case of traffic. I asked her if Mattthew was there and dressed and she said yes, so I said, let's start on time. I didn't see any reason to not start on time! I was there, my hubby was there and so were our parents, the pastor and the bridal party. What was I going to wait for, lol!
We had a harpist playing the music, and it sounded wonderful!! She did an excellent job. There's nothing like the wedding march being played on a harp

The ceremony was great! I feel like it went by really fast, but it was about a 25 minute ceremony.
The reception! The food was great, even though we hardly ate anything because people kept coming to our table! We had wine, beer, and signature drink - a lemon drop martini. It was delicious and strong! Everyone seemed to love it. There were passed apps while we were taking pictures. For dinner, we had beef tenderloin and parmesan encrusted talipia with green beans and mashed potatoes.
The DJ was fantastic. I had hired him before, so I already knew he could get people out there. Even my mother who doesn't really dance was out there!
I think everyone had a good time. We stayed until 10 where hubby had a car come pick us up and take us to the Embassy near the airport so we would't have to get up early on Sunday to catch the plane. We left the next day for our honeymoon - 7 day Southern Caribbean cruise followed by 2 days in San Juan! We had such a wonderful time!! The weather was great and the islands were beautiful. Thanks to Cha and Shano for suggesting excursions!
Now, we're back to reality, but I'm glad I had the foresight to take off the rest of the week! I go back to work next Monday.
We haven't received the pro pics yet, but here are some pics that people sent me. Enjoy!
