I love to travel and experience different cultures. Museums and historical sites are among my favorite things. I'm also a foodie so great food and wine are things I look forward to.
DF likes to relax...he's all about the hotel amenities, the beach, the poolside bar, and adventure activities. I am willing to concede that a honeymoon is a bit more about relaxing than the typical vacation.
We went to Playa del Carmen last summer and we both had a blast: we parasailed, snorkeled, ziplined, atv'd, visited telum (for my need for culture). We stayed at an all-inclusive. Loved that mostly everything was paid for in advance because it took away the stress. HOwever the food left a little something to be desired for me.
For our honeymoon, I would like some place where we can relax, see beautiful sites (whether architectural or natural), probably has to have a beautiful beach for DF, several opportunities for "cultural experience" and great food. DF also did not want to spend forever on an airplane however we're discovering that several places we have looked at will mean long flights. We'd like to go somewhere other than Mexico (since we went there last year) and other than Jamaica.
Oh, and it's in July.
We've considered
Turks and Caicos
St. Lucia
St. Maarten
Hawaii
Bora Bora
Costa Rica
But open to any suggestions!
