How did you DECIDE on which venue to choose?

Do any brides-to-be out there have any suggestions on how they made the final decision on their venue? I have two I'm in love with and both will work nicely for the wedding, I just can't make a decision........

    Key factors for us:
    -Price per plate was an obvious one
    -Proximity to the ceremony site
    -Proximty to lodging
    -How clean!

    Seriously, try to get in one of those places when they AREN'T set up for an event. There was one ballroom we really liked... but walking around we found it was kind of dirty, even in the kitchen area.
    When we were upstairs looking at the hotel rooms of another location, they were really nothing to write home about... and there was a dead roach in the hallway (and this was NOT a low budget place).

    There was another location we loved, but it wasn't as close to a hotel as we'd have liked

    In the end we choose something 5 minutes from the church, attached to a hotel, that always seemed spotless even when there wasn't an event. I think the guests appreciated all of these things.
