Question+Checks!

Is anyone else doing a hotel wedding and reception?? me and FI are leaning heavy toward it. Its just the service charge and the taxes that get me! ugh

Also, we put our deposit down on our photographer! Next up videographer!.....It is starting to feel.....REAL!

Re: Question+Checks!

  • My FI and I were leaning heavy towards a hotel until we came across a banquet hall that offered similar pricing and better food. I agree everything is starting to feel real, I'm excited!
  • Congrats on the check!!!

We did do both ceremony & reception at a hotel b/c I really liked the idea of everyone be in one place the night before and being able to wake up the morning of and get ready and not have to get in the car and go anywhere. Also I liked the idea of guests not having to go anywhere after the ceremony. We also ad the rehersal dinner there as well.

  • I am doing it at a hotel as well! One room for the ceremony and then move to the next room for the reception. It was a great price and even better food! Which was my main concern. Even get a honeymoon suite for the night and all guests get a room discount $80 a night! Cake was included as well. This place even gives you centerpieces for the reception that are super nice. All that being said its some nice hotels out there! Good Luck :)
  • Thanks yall! the hotel im considering is really nice! Our package comes with everything too. The lady in charge is really nice and we also get a honeymoon suite and discounted rooms for guest! The only thing is, i hate how simple their centerpieces are, so im doing my own (wonder if i can neotiate that). Also, the cake is included! it does cost a pretty penny though.........
  • We were planning to, but we got a great rate at a mansion for about half the price since we had a late Friday wedding. I did attend a wedding/reception at the hotel where we stayed and after clearing the bar with my BIL it was convenient to make it back to my room without having to call a cab.

  • since we are doing a destination wedding we are doing the wedding and reception in the hotel...
just easier that way plus folks dont have to move from the wedding to the hotel and have to figure out transportation how to get there

  • dontemccauley I thought about the whole hotel venue thing but the only thing that changed my mind was the parking, i hated the fact that my guests would have had to pay to either valet or park in a lot across the street...that was my only problem with that but i think having it at a hotel and the price is good id say do it..
