Heart Rate

As most of you know already, I struggled with an ED for a number of years. One of the problems that plagued me during that time was heart palpitations. I still get them from time but I don't fret much about it, they're pretty far and few between at this point. But lately I've been noticing during my runs that I've been getting a bit of arrhythmia. My heart rate kind of bottoms out for a few seconds then bounces back up. Is this something that may be related to that? I used to workout like crazy during my ED years, so I've dealt with palpitations during a workouts before, but I don't much like it. I don't really want to have a bad instance one day and pass out mid run or anything. I workout at 6am and I know it's bad bad bad but I don't eat before I go. I have a bad stomach and eating first thing after getting up makes me sick. I've always worked out on a empty stomach, so my body is used to compensating. Is there a reason for this quick fluctuation of my heart rate mid workout? It's usually during the more intense parts of my runs or workouts and it makes me a bit light headed for a second or two. How do make this not happen anymore without compromising the intensity and duration of my workouts?

I'm sorry you're experiencing this cnf!
Honestly, I would go see a cardiovascular specialist soon rather than consulting us.  Your internal systems and organs, especially when it comes to your heart, are nothing to second guess!

I second Lobsters.  I've had to go through a bunch of cardic tests and stuff for weird heart things while working out, but that was never one of my symptoms.  You never want to take chances with that stuff and at least it will give you some peace of mind if nothing's wrong...

I hope it gets better very soon!!

    Get thee to a doctor!

For realz, Dr. GIS isn't a good resource for an issue like this.

    Hey,

I had an ED too for 10 years. I had palpitations and went to the doctor and got a ton of tests including a stress test. Just get it looked at. It will make you feel much better to know everything is ok. congrats on being and staying in recovery :)
