Feeling very discouraged- Warning: ranting and whiny-ness ahead

So I lost my job about a week and a half ago.  FI lost his job today.  Can I not catch a break anywhere?  This is supposed to be the happiest time of my life, but all I feel is disgust, disappointment, and an insane amount of stress.  We have 88 days until the wedding, and no jobs.  I literally want to just call the whole thing off, but we've already put SO much $$ and planning into this wedding.  I know I am thinking unrationally right now, but I am just so....well, pissed off at everything!  GRRRR!!

You have every right to be completely stressed out right now.  That sucks.

However, someday you will look back and remember this and realize if you can make it through this, you can make it through anything.  And you can make it through this.  Whatever way possible.

What fields do you work in?  Maybe someone around here knows of some leads.  Cut what you can from the wedding, but remember this is only temporary.  And as much as it sucks right now, it will someday be just a distant memory.

I completely understand how you feel. My FI and I were both laid off for 8 and 9 months last year.  Basically we were waiting to get a job to get married.  We finally got jobs and now are planning.

All the cakes, dresses and flowers are beautiful but you are really there just to get married to the person that you love most.  So although it defiantely poses a problems, the most important thing is that you want to get married to this man and all the pretty things are just extras.

Thanks girls.  I know it's only temporary, it's just been a really rough last few months.  I work in banking, so I'm sure something will come up, I just wish I knew when.

Hold your head high!  It will get better.
Just remember your goal is to be with your love, and you will be married. It will all be worth it.  Just cut back where you can.  And breathe!

What do you have paid for so far? I am in the same predicament as you and we have a beautiful wedding planned in spite of it. I had the choice of cancelling the wedding and losing my deposits or downsizing and go full steam ahead! You would be surprised how creative you can be on a budget. I am having a beautiful dream wedding for 125-150 guests for 4,000! Contact me at wedding2012@cinci.rr.com if you would like some tips or vendors or help with anything. I am amazed that this can be done. My fiance' said I really need to go into business as a wedding planner....Uh, no thanks!...but I wouldn't mind helping out fellow brides who would like some direction. That's more my style!! LOL! Trust me...you will LOL again! I know this is overwhelming. Just take a deep breath and move full steam ahead!!

I work in the mortgage industry...mostly doing mortgage loan processing/underwriting.  My fiance is pretty much looking for anything that will pay the bills...his last job was at a call center.
