Wedding Party Gifts

So I am kind of stumped on what to get my bridesmaids for being in the wedding. I want something unique and useful. So my question what has been your favorite gift as a bridesmaid?

Re: Wedding Party Gifts

  • I've never been a BM.

What are your BMs interests? The best gifts are always those that involve the most thought. The party line around here is to shop for them as if it is their birthday.

I got all my girls floofy socks and bath and body works stuff in scents they like, as well as a more personal gift for each. MOH got gnome s&p shakers, one BM got a stationary set, and the other two each got a book I knew they would enjoy. I also made them personalized hangers with their names, but don't really count that as part of their gift.

I got my girls Coach wristlets. And I got them at the coach outlet at a great price. Cute, practical, and useful!
  • Shop like it's their birthdays (personalized, plays to their interests, something they like).

Under no circumstances should it be a prop for the wedding (that's more for you than them).

  • I've only been a bridesmaid once, and the bride did the typical "budget" gift of a canvas tote bag that said "bridesmaid" filled with tampons, bobby pins, tiny bottles of wine, bandaids, etc. I really appreciated the card she wrote, though. It made me cry.

The gifts don't need to all be the same and they should be things the girls actually want and can use past the wedding. They should not be bridesmaid themed.

I picked up some makeup bags from Kate Spade's new Saturday line and I'm filling them with things that each of the girls like. I got some stud earrings and nail polish for each of the girls, and I'll be stocking them with various products - lots of lip products for my FSIL who LOVEs lipstick and lipgloss (she collects it), Bath and Body Works lotion for my German bridesmaid who spends like $200 there every time she visits the US, a face mask and exfoliant for my MOH who is a spa junkie, etc. I'm imagining these goody bags to be Birch Boxes on crack.

I think I'm going to pick up some of those cans of wine from Whole Foods, too - just to give them something consumable.
  • Wow! I think you have a great idea : I'm having the girls over to my place the morning of the wedding and plan to have all those extra things there for them, but I love the idea of a make up bag, make up, and jewelry for them! I got them a bracelet that matches their dress, but they all picked a dress they liked only thing was it had to be a certain color. And I'm getting them coach wristlets and fun sunglasses that match the wedding colors I know that we will have a blast getting fun pictures with them : I know it's not much but I have 8 girls and its what I can afford. They are all very special to me for different reasons and I think they are all going to feel appreciated so that's all that matters!
