AW- 5k this past weekend

I was stalking on facebook just before, and found this gem that someone took at the 5k I ran in on Saturday with my niece and mom.

It was my niece's first 5k and she was really excited.  She asked us to wear outfits that matched, and my mom made the tutus the night before.  It was ridiculous to say the least, but I couldn't say no to her, she was just way to excited about it!

  • Cute!
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

43 minutes.. . . . .I was impressed by my niece. . . . .she sprinted, walked, sprinted (which is draining to me as an adult) but never gave up.  I was proud that she finished it.
  • Congrats! That's so cool, especially for your niece!

I love this! Those are great tutus!!!  What was it in honor of? Family tradition now?

I also feel dumb because I curiously looked up what how long a 5K is...and realized the K is kilometers...but after I got over that, I felt good because I walked over that amount on Monday and I now realize it's totally doable for events like these.

You'll never be subject to a cash bar, gap, potluck wedding, or b-list if you marry a Muppet Overlord.

It was a race for women whose lives have been affected by blood cancers.  The recipients of the funds were a local mom who is currently awaiting a second bone marrow donation and a mom whose son is battling leukemia.

If my mother has her way it will be a never ending tradition for us!

  • that's awesome....and a good cause!
