Mother and Son Dance

What are you playing for the Mother Son Dance?  The father daughter dance was easy but we are having a hard time with the other one.  Thanks!!

Re: Mother and Son Dance

  • Why not ask the mother of the groom to come up with some ideas? If she doesn't have any for some reason, browse your iTunes library, Google "mother son dance songs", and consider some classics/standards.
  • if we do the mother/son dance it will be..."Mama's Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys"
  • DH and MIL used A Song for Mama by Boys II Men

I left it up to them to decide and she chose "My Wish" by Rascall Flatts. Not a single dry eye in the house!

My brother in law and his mother danced to "In my Life" the Ozzy Osbourne cover. It really suited them, and it was much slower than the Beatles original.
  • Ive been thinking about this one. My FI's mother passed away few years ago. I wish I could honor her in some way that would not be upsetting for anyone. FI and I have a 3 yr old son. I'd like to dance to Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd (all 3 of us) in place of the mother/ son dance.
  • My FMIL suggested we play "Forever Young" at some point, because it was FI's high school graduation song, so it will be her dance with him.
