Will my save the dates idea be confusing?

I found these really great vintage georgia postcards at a flea market that I planned to mail out as our save-the-dates, (all of my family and a couple friends are from out of state)  Now I'm having second thoughts though because most of the postcards are for all around georgia, and not Atlanta specificially.  I'm going to be writing Atlanta, GA, plus the date and time on them, but I'm worried about it being misleading if someone gets one for that says like, Savannah, on it.  We are a bit behind schedule getting them out as is, so I'd prefer not to scrap the whole idea and delay getting them out even longer.  What do you all think?

Alternatively, I could easily find atlanta specific postcards, (though not the neat vintage ones, those are hard to come by).  They are super cheap, and I only spent $7 on the other ones I have, so it's not  a financial blow to switch plans.  Thanks for any input.

I don't think it will be confusing, as long as you write the wedding location on them. If I received a postcard like that, I think I'd think, "Oh, hey, Georgia!", rather than, "Huh? Why does this say Savannah?"

I wouldn't worry about it.  I wouldn't be making travel plans until I received a formal invite anyway so even if I read it wrong it would be no big deal.

On a related note, if your wedding is in Oct as your bio says, you need to get them out ASAP!  If you didn't already have the postcards, I'd tell you it's too late and to skip it.

  • So, got them all mailed. What I ended up doing was picking out all the ones that didn't specifically say another city on the front (some were just pictures of things in other cities and only mentioned city name in small print on the back) and then we just mailed them to all our out of state guests and local guests that we felt ought to have STD's.  Everyone else (basically just friends) we just sent out event invites via facebook, since that is generally the best way to let all our friends know about events anyway. So there shouldn't be any confusion, and everyone will still get the formal invitations later.  Thanks for the input all!
