Buying wedding gowns online

Has anyone tried buying their wedding gowns online?  I am on a budget and came across a bunch of websites that make their gowns online for super cheap.  People has said to not trust them, but never had experiences with them firsthand.  If you have successfully bought a gown from them, what were the websites?

Thanks!!!

Ditto cmgilpin. Also, if you want information on a specific website, Google the name of the site and "reviews." Most of the time, you'll see a lot of horror stories.

  • Try reputable "used" gown sites like preownedweddingdress.com, oncewed, and tradesy--sometimes these dresses aren't even used. The brides purchased one dress and then either cancelled their wedding or found a dress they like better. Some of these dresses are brand new and upwards of 50% off!

  • What about shopping the clearance racks at your local bridal salons? I would rather do that than buy something that I could not try on first. At least I know I would be getting a real dress by a real designer like allure or Maggie at a low price. Some stores clearance their samples out below cost during their sample sales
