Looking for cheap New England honeymoon in mid-late October! Need suggestions!!

Hi, I'm getting married October 19th and my fiance and I are looking for an inexpensive New England honeymoon from Monday-Friday (no weekend nights). Where are some of the best (and least expensive!) places to stay/sightsee/eat in the Maine/Rhode Island/Massachusetts/Connecticut area that time of year? Thanks!!

    Are you planning to stay in one place for the whole time or are you wanting to travel around and stay at several different places? What are you guys interested in? Cafes? Bars? Art galleries? Hiking? Watching the sunrise? Shopping? Photography? Lobster? Lighthouses? Are you guys foodies? Cyclists? Do you like antique shops? Also, what kind of accommodations are you looking for? A charming B&B?  I'd be happy to help you plan! Just need some help figuring out what you guys are into and what you want...

    Definitely looking for good seafood! Lighthouses would be great, charming  B&B would be nice although we are not opposed to hotels. Would love to take the train, but haven't really looked into the diference in pricing between trains and flying (most likely not driving up). More interested in sightseeing than looking for specific places to go. Thoughts on B&Bs and where the best seafood would be?? Thanks so much!!

    Also, depending on the expense of getting a rental car, it may be cool to travel to a couple different places during the days...

    Mystic, Connecticut has a cute little town, Mystic Seaport and Mystic Aquarium. Plus the casinos are only 20 ish minutes away. There are some B&Bs in the area, I'm sure. 

    Cape Cod is obviously a choice, and there's lot to do there year round.

    When I was little my parents used to take me to Cape Cod in October since it was so much cheaper in the off season - we used to stay right on the beach, for a fraction of what it would cost in the summer. We also went to Cape Ann for a few summers - it's a little north of Cape Cod, and has lots of shopping, little restaurants, and other coast-town activities.

    CAPE COD.  I can't say it enough!  It's the perfect getaway, and you can drive into Boston or up off Cape toward Gloucester/Maine if you want to keep moving.  I can recommend tons of B&Bs and restaurants, shopping areas, etc if you're interested-just shoot me a PM!

    I second Mystic.  
    It's very beautiful, "classic New England" and as Moonlight said, not far from the casinos!  Plenty of great family-owned restaurants and inns.  The Whaler's Inn is an old historic inn, the employees are very nice and it is right downtown.
    Good shopping downtown and at the Olde Mystick Village too!

    In mid-late October, it's going to be cool in New England.  I imagine you would want to do some leaf peeping?  If so, I'd recommend staying in New Hampshire or VT.  I love Burlington, VT personally.  It's such a cute little town.  There's so much shopping/coffee shops/bars/live music/art.  You can take a tour of Lake Champlain.  I don't think there's much to do on the cape in October and wouldn't really recommend going there.  Boston is great, but October is very expensive for hotels at that time.  If you stayed at a B&B in NH you could do some day trips into Boston.
