My month board (Oct 2013) has been changed over to the new format. None of us can post anything new. When we try to post it brings up a red bar at the top that says category required. There is no where to select a category that any of us can find. Any way you can help with this?

I just went there and if you click on the blue rectangle at the top right that says "new discussion" it brings up 2 spaces (at least it did for me) : 1 for the title you want for your thread and below that a larger box for you to type in your message.

If that doesn't work post back here and I'll alert the tech people tomorrow morning.

That is what I get when I click on the blue rectangle as well. I fill in the title and a message and when I hit the post button a long red rectangle pops up on the top of the screen that says "category required" and it will not post your post to the board.

Um yeah. We know how to fill in a title and body of the discussion. When you click "Start New Discussion" (after you fill out the title and body of the post) it says "Category Required". It is really crazy that this new layout would be rolled out right before a weekend and when none of the bugs have been worked out. It has killed our board.

Are we going to get an explanation on our board for those who can only use TK on the weekends and at night? This is frustrating.

ETA - maybe you should try to post to see if you get the same error.

Also, when you try to access TK on mobile, it doesn't show anything that has been posted since the new layout was rolled out. It does, however, show posts that users have posted from mobile (even though these don't show up on the new layout). Basically, I am trying to say that until you update mobile, nothing is going to work.

You are right--I didn't have any better luck posting than you did. The same thing happens.

This new layout is taking place over a week's time. Without shutting down the boards completely this was the best option and will hopefully be completed by the 16th.

This is the first time anyone has said to me that they couldn't post. Sorry for your frustration. I will contact the tech people tomorrow morning and let them know that this problem exists. I'm sure they will work on it asap.

And I don't know for sure, but I would think they would have to have the computer program totally up and working and then go on to do whatever is necessary for mobile.

I had this same exact experience on Favors. I was starting to doubt my tech abilities, so glad I'm not alone!

When you switched the Christian weddings board over as a test - it worked just fine. I'm unable to post any new discussions there as well. Sounds like it's a beta-forum issue...

Update - nothing has changed and the new format still won't let me post anything without a category. Any word on how long this is going to take to get fixed?

Yeah - at least FB doesn't update its timeline unless their tech guys have worked out all the bugs and it actually works when it goes live.....This goes way beyond "the white is too white for my sensitive eyes." I suspect that we will need to make sure we add the newer Oct 2013 brides to FB when our board works again. Otherwise, we may never be able to talk to them again!

Stage - I think the point is that KJ/KI could have gone to the board and see for themselves whether it was working or not. Granted, it could have been working and no one posted anything, but they did and they could have seen that whatever the issue was has since been repaired.

The response also didn't address the mobile issue, which I don't know if it's repaired or not at this point - I don't use mobile hardly ever so I can't speak to that at all.

If you had read the thread, I asked KJ/KI to go over there and try it because KI gave us a lesson on day one of internet school by instructing us to fill in various boxes. She went over there and tried it. It didn't work. They know it didn't work. There was no question of maybe it was working for them.

The easiest way to find out if something is working now would be to go over there and ask if it is working. If you can start a new thread over there, voila, problem solved. If it doesn't work, we will let you know. But to have to keep checking back to a thread that is old and on a different board is annoying.

And Stage, I did read your post. You capitalized OMG, WTF, and NOT. I am NOT sure if NOT is always in caps, but I was trying to be ironic by making a big deal out of something small (like someone using double punctuation). Clear enough now?

Hm. You also missed the part where I said that the fact that we couldn't post on the board in the new format all weekend was a bigger deal than the white background? I have not said anything about the other changes because, quite frankly, I couldn't give a sh!t less about them.

Also, we probably would have "whined" about it somehwere else, except we couldn't post in the new format, or did you miss that part too?

ETA - and if it bothers you so much, you can certainly feel free to no longer click on this link and save your eyes from reading anything related to us "whining." I will not, however, be told by you or anyone to take my concerns "somewhere else" because you don't like what I have to say.

Stage, our month board was transitioned and there weren't any major glitches. It stopped working, one of the girls paged KJ/KI on here because we couldn't post on our month board. That's the only reason this thread was started, anyway. Not to complain about how the change is unwelcome - well, except for the whole "it doesn't work anymore" part.

ETA: Rochelle, you & I are sharing brains again...

It looks good on our end now - but I still need to know it if it is functioning on your ends? Is it working on other boards other than your month board?

The only way we can get the problems fixed is if we go over to a board that hasn't been changed over yet. I PM'd her last week, she responded, but guess what, I cannot respond back. How can we bring it to her attention on the boards that have been changed if they don't work correctly?

I wasn't trying to be bitchy, hence the reason I said "No offense, but".
