wedding vendors

How long should you wait for a wedding vendor to response to you? Thanks

Re: wedding vendors

  • I would give 24-48 hours if you did not receive an out-of-office auto reply.  Also check your spam folder, sometimes email end up there.

Two business days. If you send an email or call on a Thursday, I wouldn't be annoyed until Monday, especially since weekends are the busiest times for vendors. However if I send something Monday I expect a reply by Wednesday.

  • Ok thanks. Its for our DJ my fl has a friend who works for a dj company and we sent him an email last week and he never got back with us. So I emailed the owner to see if he could set something up for us. I haven't heard back from him either. I'm not sure if I should call them or just move on to another dj.

  • Just call. I spend most of my day at work trying to get ahold of vendors and subcontractors and they are awful at calling back. Just keep bothering them until they think you're nuts.

Definitely call. My WP wasn't responding to my emails, and it turns out they were being filtered into the wrong place in her Outlook, so she didn't see them. And when you speak to someone, ask them which mode of communication is best to reach them.

  • I'd give them a call, wait a few days, and then move on. Some people are easier to reach by phone. However, if they do not return your call in a few days, I personally would feel more comfortable with another vendor.
