Destination Wedding; Reception back home gift?

What is the etiquette on giving gifts to people who got married away, which we went to and are now having a reception back home?

Not sure if this is necessary but we spent nearly $5000.00 to go to the wedding, so we are thinking that is enough!?!?!

    You shouldn't feel obligated to give a gift. Most of the time when people have a destination wedding they don't expect a big gift if any at all because they understand people spent a lot of money to be there. I know I was really shocked when I got gifts from people who attended the wedding away. 

    The point of a reception at home is usually not to get gifts. They usually use it as  away to include those who couldn't be at the wedding ceremony. That being said, don't send a gift if you feel it's unnecessary. The couple is probably grateful enough that you attended. If you do get something, you can stick to something small that fits your budget.

    Yep! I am a destination bride and I am not expecting any gifts.  My Sister and Brother actually can't make it and are hosting a reception for those that also can't 2 weeks before we leave.  I am sure we may get gifts then, but I will never register or anything like that!
