Brunch buffet options on Sunday

Did anyone do something similar to this? We wanted an opportunity to say goodbye to everyone before they head back home, but we won't be able to host because we are already hosting a welcome party and our wedding (of course!), so there is no room in the budget. Is it tacky to put that we can meet up at a brunch buffet on our invitations and to list the cost? Or it is better to do it word of mouth?

We thought we could do it at Wicked Spoon, but after talking to them, it sounds like they can't guarantee that everyone will be able to sit next to each other (and if it is a bigger group, they are saying that we can only pay with up to 3 credit cards!). I'm thinking only immediate family (which is around 30 or so people) will show up, but it could be more than that. Do you think the Bellagio buffet will be more accommodating since that is where our wedding will be?

Thanks for the help everyone!

I wouldn't put that on your invitations, since it will look like you're hosting, and putting the cost on there will make it look kind of tacky.

The best way to do a morning-after brunch that you are not hosting is to spread the news through word-of-mouth. Moms are good for this. :) Every time my family has a wedding, the moms come around and say, "Hey, are you guys going to be around tomorrow? We're all getting together for brunch at Blah Blah. If you can make it, everyone's going to be there around 11:00." Or they just give that info when people ask. In my circle, it's pretty common for people to ask, "Is there something going on tomorrow? Are we getting together?" and it's generally accepted that it's not a hosted event since it's the day after the wedding.

I'm glad we didn't plan anything for Sunday morning after our wedding.  We snuck out of reception near the end to change, amongst other things lol, then came back until the end, spent some club time with one group of friends that went that direction, then the craps table with another bunch that wanted to gamble; we didn't end up asleep until probably 4am.  I guess if it's an earlier in the day event you could assume you'd be asleep by a certain time but it's Vegas so you never know, and having an alarm wake you up on your first married morning sucks.

Despite my earlier advice, I'm with VG on this one. We want to spend our first married morning sleeping in and not talking to anyone, especially after a long day of people and schedules on Wedding Day. We're planning to order room service for breakfast, lounge around, and then meet up with people at the pool. Anyone who thinks I'm going to be social before 1:00 PM is batsh*t crazy.

Thanks for your responses wrigleyville and vegasgroom! I agree with you both now that you lay it out like that. I think we will be more tired than we are expecting and you're right that it doesn't make sense to commit ourselves to something so early in the day.

We are literally about to give our final sign-off and get our invitations printed, so thanks for responding so quickly and bringing me back to reality! Ha! =D

We went to Fremont St with some friends on first married day, but probably not until maybe 2pm.  I woke up and turned my phone on around noon; it was nice to have the electronics off for once in a decade.

Vegasgroom, what did you do on Fremont Street while you were there? I haven't been in a long time and don't know what there is to do there. I don't know how to play any of the tables that well. I remember reading on the boards some time recently that there are free classes some of the casinos hold . . .

    Thanks again!

Yep zip lining like wrigleyville said is one of the popular things.  You can go four at a time so if you have a group you can launch at the same time.  There's lots of street-side bars now that have been built out, including at Binions, Four Queens and The D.  On weekends there's usually entertainment during the day, but otherwise mostly just at night, bands and things.  Hash House and Heart Attack Grill are two unique restaurants down there.  There's also Insert Coins if you have any video gamers; it's a bar/club with tons of old arcade games, every console and every console game you want and then the bar itself has xbox and play station so you can booze and play at the same time lol; I love it, my wife and I go in there and play call of duty while getting drunk.  At night of course there are the light shows on the canopy.

Regarding table games, nearly every casino will have a training session for craps in the morning hours, like 9 to 10, things like that, just ask a pit boss when and where it is.  I think there is training for the other more complicated games as well, but probably not blackjack.  There are a couple casinos on Fremont that will have $3 craps sometimes, which is not a good game because of how it pays which puts the game more in the casinos favor, but good to learn on while spending less.

This bar sounds amazing!  I absolutely have to remember this for a wee visit while I'm there.  Training on the casino games sounds brilliant as well, I don't know f I'd ever be up early enough to go though :)
