We will be staying at the Elara and have recommended that our guests stay there with us or at the adjoining Planet Hollywood Hotel. Our ceremony is at the Flamingo which is walking distance or quite a cheap cab fare.

FI and I will be getting a limousine to the ceremony. My question is - should we provide transportation for our guests to get to the Flamingo and are any of you doing this for your on-strip venues (I can understand doing this for off-the-strip). Most of our guests have never been to Las Vegas and will be travelling from Australia so we are trying to look after them as they would have all spent thousands just to attend our wedding.

The reason Im thinking of doing this is so that we can get our guests to the ceremony on time (hopefully) and so that we can arrange for one of our coordinators to travel with the guests and also usher them to the ceremony location so that they don't get lost.

We will definitely provide shuttles for our guests from Maggianos back to City Centre after the reception.  Just looking for your opinions or suggestions.

Re: Transportation

  • Hmmmm it's a good idea for you to provide the transportation for them, how many guests are you having? I don't think I would if I had a pretty large group going but that's just me. It's pretty easy to find your way around even without being there before. But offering transportation would be really nice considering how far they have traveled :)

When's your date?  Just FYI Bill's Gamblin' Hall is being torn down from the inside, not sure what they're doing about the outside at this point but there's a chance over the next few months that the sidewalk going from Ballys -> Bills -> Flamingo could get blocked for periods of time.

Edit: I see it, year away, shouldn't have anything to worry about by then.

I'd probably still do transportation though, I personally wouldn't want to walk from PH to Flamingo in a suit, through the smoky casino to the chapel.

If you can afford it, I would provide the transportation. Like you said, they have spent a lot to come. I am going to try an accommodate as much as possible too.

  • Thanks all. I have spoken with FI and he agrees so we will be providing transport.

  • We are doing that also. Our ceremony is at MGM, but reception is at MB. We are transporting all guests from MGM to MB and then DDB is picking us up from MB for our tour.
