I need some ideas on how to dress up or cover the basketball hoops in our reception area.

We have a rustic theme and we are on a tight budget.

If they aren't the kind of hoops that move up towards the ceiling when not in use, don't touch them. Anything you do WILL draw the eye to them.

Concentrate on your tables. Put a dramatic pop of color on them and people's eyes will focus right there. Make your tables look stunning and people won't pay attention to the hoops.

I agree with @kmmssg. You could cover them, but then people would just look at them and say "oh, those basketball hoops are covered". They aren't going to magically dissapear or anything.

Can you afford draping? That would really dress it up and hide the fact that its a gym.

Honestly, I have been to a couple of receptions that were held in a gym and they did not cover the basketball goals but no one really payed attention to them,. The focus was on the bride and groom. Congrats!
