Good websites for invitations?

I can't afford to use one of those fancy places where it's $1,000+, but I also don't want to get stuck doing a DIY project. Does anyone  have suggestions on good websites to use that are affordable (less than $400 for about 150 guests).

Thanks,

Katrina

  • I used weddingpaperdivas.com  They have lots of options, many of which are very affordable.  They also seem to have sales/coupons for 15% or more off pretty frequently.
  • I have 150 guests as well and was under $300 with wedding paper divas. The trick is that the first time you get your free samples you also get a 30% off coupon that's good for a couple of months. They have a lot of colorful and less traditional designs, which I love.
  • we used Invitations by Dawn!  They were great!  I saved 40% and got free shipping. Looked beautiful

  • Thanks for the info, I'm looking to get a custom invite done, we want our own picture on front and our own words inside.. Looking to keep costs down as well. magnetstreet. I'm looking into this. Along with the others. Perhaps a Walgreens or cvs photo card builder might be my best option.

  • Check out Party City.  They have tons of book with invitations and are usually 30% off.  Many cheesy, some great!  We found one we liked, searched for the manufacturer/style online at home, found it at a local store and ordered.  We got 100 invitations, lined outer envelopes, inner envelopes, RSVP cards, RSVP envelopes and return address printed for about $240.

Those books of invitations can be found in limitless places, we are looking t have our photographs as the invitations... They don't have the ability to costum the designs though. Ashame some of them are fantastic. I found Walgreens has exactly the item we are looking for, I'm still pricing others out. But for 150 invites, using all 4 sides of the card for photos and wording of our design it comes to less then $200.

I've never seen wedding invitations have 4 sides of a card with photos.  It sounds a bit informal, which is fine if that's the overall feel of your wedding.  Can you link an example?
  • I probably didn't fully explain myself, I have the options of using all 4 Sides of the folded card.
  • Just remember that if you have 150 guests, you will need far fewer invitations, as you will only need to send one per household.  In don't know if you've factored this in already, but many brides forget this when they post on here wondering about invitation costs.

  • Have you considered Etsy? They have great options.
  • minted.com is a great site. I used my them for my STDs. They usually always have some type of discount going on. They will also customize them just the way you want. Its super fast and the shipping is even faster! I didnt go with them for my invites because I wanted something really specific. But I will def use them for every other stationary or invite for future events  =) hope this helps!
  • We used exclusivelyweddings.com and absolutely loved our invitations!

  • Etsy also has some great custom invitation options. Some are expensive but many are more affordable.

Seconded!  You get 10 samples for free, which is a great deal in itself.  If you think you know which design you'd like, use your free samples to see how it looks on all the paper options.  The samples will come with all types of coupons...Mine was 20% off.  I also saved a mock-up on the invitations I liked best just to see, and they later emailed me a coupon to 'finish my draft'.

My invitations came in last week, and they're beautiful!  I ended up ordering 115:  for invitations with a paper upgrade, RSVP cards with printed return address (was ~$35 and SO worth the upgrade), and a double-sided enclosure card, we spent under $400.  We also spent about $50 on a custom stamp for the outer envelope. You can order those through weddingpaperdivas.com but I believe they come from a partner company?

The design people are awesome...just call if you have issues. You can print photos on the back of most invitations for free, and they let me use a .jpg of our map in place of a photo on the insert, which saved us considerable printing and postage costs.  Our proof was emailed within two days, and I completely changed my mind about wording and they changed it, no questions asked, within the hour.  Cannot recommend them enough.
