How do you like steak prepared?

Some other convo jogged this thought - I was going to title it "How do you like your meat" but that is not what I was going for....

Medium? Medium Rare? Well done?

Anything over medium rare to me is ruined - RUINED! (Although I will admit, at some fine dining places I have to order medium cause their definition of medium rare can be "still alive.") I have been out with friends who have ordered burgers (so, ground meat) rare. That is too much for my taste, but interesting to see.

I've been a vegetarian all my life, so really couldn't answer. Never had steak, but most of the people I know want their meat medium rare when we order in restaurants. If they're suspicious of the cleanliness of the place, they'll order it well done. Quite fascinating from my angle also.
