It was a little early to go dress shopping, but my two sisters, mom, and I were actually in the same city for once so we went. I think I may have found my dress, but it's strapless, which is not what I really wanted going in. But I really love the lace and the fit - and the price! It was actually the very first dress I tried on, and when I put it back on at the end of the day, my family had the same (great) reaction without realizing it was the first dress. I'm just nervous about the neckline before I pull the trigger.
What do you think of the dress? Do you think there could be alterations to add straps/ cap sleeves? The lace is so intricate, I'm not sure it would work.
Re: Might have a dress - need opinions.
I think the dress is amazing and it loooks gorgeous on you.
What are your concerns about the lack of sleeves? Is it because you always envisioned wearing sleeves or is it because you want to be more covered?
If it is because you always envisioned sleeves you aren't the first bride to fall in love with a dress that didn't match your vision. I always wanted a slim, all lace, cut out back and sleeves. What I ended up falling in love with was not that at all.
If it is because you want to be more covered I would think about a bolero or ask the store whether or not additional lace can be purchased to make cap sleeves.
IMO, I would leave the dress the way it is because it is fabulous.
i think it would be easy to add straps it depends on what kind. If you take it someone good they will have tons of good ideas! Also depending on when you are getting married you could always add a sweater or little something over your shoulders. I have also seen thicker vail to cover shoulders.
It is beautiful! I really like it with the sash. I tried on one strapless lace gown, and they did say the designer could add cap sleeves that matched. It was a Casablanca though, and they are known for their ability to customize. You might be able to purchase lace that is similar to the dress from the designer?
It is perfect just the way it is, though.
Although its strapless it looks like it covers you well and I would think with alterations you could see options to add a strap or cap sleeve if you are uncomfortable- but it looks great as is IMO
