Does it look bad if the bridesmaids dresses resemble the style of the brides dress?

Ok I am getting mixed reviews from friends and the internet. I have my dress picked out and I have a bridesmaid dress in mind. Most bridesmaids like the style but one mentioned it was too close to my dress and would draw the attention from me. So I am enlisting the help of the community on this website. I have attached pics of both. Are they too close? Just similar enough? Or are the dresses supposed to completely different from my dress. (This is not the color btw)

They are both strapless, but otherwise, they are totally different. BM dress is sweetheart, your dress is cut pretty much straight across. Your dress has beading, BM dress doesn't. Your dress is long, theirs are short. Unless their dresses are going to be white, and you are going to add beading to the bodice, I don't see how they are too close.

Yes, that's what I was thinking. There is some beading on the BM dress on the little sash that hangs off.

Uhm, you're the bride. Nothing short of a catastrophe is going to draw attention away from you/your dress on your wedding day.

Yeah, those few little sparkles does not make those dresses look like your dress, at all.

I agree with Lemclane. In no way is it possible for the bridesmaids to draw attention away from you. Unless, of course, they get new boobs and titty tassels @sydaries -style.

Both styles of dresses are beautiful! I purposely chose bridesmaid's dress (with the help of my MOH) that had similar features to my dress, such as v-necklines and medium straps and flair skirts. I thought it would look nice and cohesive.

Unless your BMs wear the exact same dress as you their short, pink dresses will not draw attention away from you.

Also they in no way resemble one another so I really do not see what your BMs see.

I agree with all of the ladies here. Also, it is YOUR decision. Pick the BM dress that you like. Your BMs should respect your decision even if they aren't the fondest of it. If you liked it at first don't let someone make you doubt your decision.

One is a wedding dress and the other isn't. That should make things pretty clear to your guests. Plus, they're really cute.
