if you were hiring a wedding planner?

LADIES!!!! If you were hiring a wedding planner for your big day, what would stand out to you? What are the do's and dont's that you would want out of your coordinator? What would you expect for your big day (yes nothing but the BEST) but, would you like a hands on coordinator that does everything WITH you not for you, or would you just like someone to schedule things for you and send you reminders? Please give me your thoughts! :)

    and I am not a vendor, i've already been approached about this, I am looking for insight from other brides for my sister.

    I think I would want someone that would work with me.  Take my inspiration and ideas and polish them to a professional execution.

    Someone who sees the potential in my thoughts and makes them not look homemade.

    I would want someone who kept me on task and who handled the little things.  Someone who weeded out the the inappropriate things and brought me only the choices that are best suited to me.

    Finally, I would want someone who realizes that it isn't their wedding, its mine.  I have had girlfriends who hired planners who ended up treating it like their second, or third wedding.  Not my idea of a good planner!

    When I was in search of a wedding planner, I wanted someone who would "get me" on what I needed.  I needed someone to help me bring my vision and run with it.  I also wanted my planner to keep me on track with all the details and tasks.
