Coworkers with attitude? GROW UP!!!

I'm growing very tired of my coworkers with attitude problems. Apparently multiple have written formal complaint letters to management about me having 12 days in a row off for my wedding/honeymoon. Today someone asked "why are you entitled to it, what makes you ay more fucking special than the rest of us? Youve been married before so whats the big fucking deal" and I told her that its between me and management. That started the gossip that I'm kissing the bosses ass. The upside to my new position is that the hours are more flexible. If I need time off, it can almost always be arranged. I just have to give management my "plan". Example: I'm off 2 Fridays in a row so I'm going to schedule patients the Thursday before and 2 days the week I come back. Wow, that wasnt so damn hard was it?? As long as I put in a certain number of hours at each office every month ( i work in 3) then my boss doesn't care. Hes already been informed by the 2 other physicians i work with that i have taken add ons to my schedule with 5 minutes notice, no complaints on my part. my ultimate job is to keep the physicians happy, if i dont my job can be yanked from that quick. So fucking tired of my coworkers and their catty bitchy opinions on EVERYTHING that has nothing to do with them. I'm also off EARLY every Friday as part of the arrangement. I am supposed to have 1 patient every 45 minutes, common sense would be to put them one after another but nope they are putting them 1 every 75 minutes essentially screwing me over. I'm going behind them and changing the appointments on my own. Its called managing my schedule. Again a foreign fucking concept to many of them and again they are complaining that I'm messing with the schedule to much. it affects NONE of them so whats the big damn deal? Well yeah dumb ass, I can fit my patients into the schedule while its clear you are trying to fuck me over (if someone needs and appt I HAVE TO stay past 230 but I am determined not to). I'm just waiting to get written up because I am gonna tell one of them to shut the fuck up one of these days. I love my job, I just hate half the staff since they brought in new faces, the old ones have gotten massive attitude problems.

Re: Coworkers with attitude? GROW UP!!!

  • I  hate how they act lately. We have 1 girl who I just adore. She is full of "may i ask you a question", please and thank yous, ALWAYS. and everyone teases her for it. The owner hired her because of the change she brings to the office but all they do is pick on her. I appreciate her so much. Instead of saying "here do this..." she will ask me "when you get a chance can you let me know where ___ is so i can get it". Its MY job to keep it stocked for the front office staff but she isnt demanding, shes courteous and if she sees im slammed she will write it down for me for when i have time to come up for air. Today she told me the all the bullshit is wearing her down and shes thinking of leaving. made me so sad. :-(

Im thinking I need to bypass management and go right to the owner which I hate to do. My manager even makes comments about me getting married. Today I walked in to the break room and someone says I look bothered today. Umm yeah, my kids teacher died yesterday, i was up all night with a kid who had nightmares, Im exhausted, what the hell do you expect? I just said "got alot on my mind". Instead of compassion I got the manager saying "shes just stressed trying to figure out how to get out of the biggest mistake of her life, ya know getting married". WHAT THE FUCK? They say its all joking but really, its down right rude and very WRONG for the work place. Im not telling all the pregnant people that they are fucking stupid for getting knocked up (even though 1 got preg 2 weeks after a tummy tuck and now expects sympathy that her stomach hurts all the time). Weve had 4 babies born in the last 4 months and 3 more are due in the next 4 months.

In a way I feel stuck because I truly love my job and there is no way Id find something that pays this well within an hour of my home. I have learned so much. Heck I have visually seen what cancer looks like. Sad to some, very educational to me.

For now Im biting my tongue since I know me telling them to Fuck off wont go over so well.

  • @jilliannjohn sorry to hear about your co-workers. I've been through the same situation. I worked with someone who was just mean. Honestly, she was 100% bitch when it came to work. She would ask if you remembered an account from two years ago, and I would tell her I can barely remember what I did yesterday, but if you could give me the account number that'd be great. She would fly off the handle on all of us.

Finally the four people she was bullying the most, we started logging what she was saying, doing, etc. We met with our supervisor to express our concerns. She said she would work on it, but nothing was done. Honestly, our supervisor was scared of her as well. She wouldn't even conduct annual reviews with her unless HER boss was there as well. Our supervisor had a general meeting with everyone just reminding us that X, Y, Z had to be done without any questions, comments or complaints. Our co-worker was fine for a while, but then back to her old ways.

I eventually left for a different position, but from what I know, she's still doing the same thing. I don't know if anyone has gone above the supervisor's head to express their concerns, but where I work it's a long process to get to HR so make sure to document everything starting today including dates, times, locations, witnesses, etc. The more details the better in these situations.

I would sit down one and one with the person you report to and express your concerns. After that if nothing is resolved, just keep going up the line. It's not fair that you're treated that way.

As much as I know you would love to tell them to go fuck off (trust me I've been there) just follow your advice and bite your tongue. Your co-workers seem like the type that will turn around and make YOU look like the bad person in the situation. Stay strong and document, document, document!

  • Thanks everyone. Buddysmom, I'm doing my best to bite my tongue. Its not a huge area that I live in, so word would travel fast and the last thing I would need is to be deemed unhireable. My manager is pretty useless it feels like. I have a HUGE issue where I go on Tuesdays, its costing our company money bc of all the re-dos, errors, etc. I tell her, plus give a suggestion and all I got was "what do you expect me to do about it? Its 2 hrs away I can't go there". Umm ok then. I had pointed out to her that I did my job, came back and had 3 hrs of work AT work and 3 hrs the next day of catch up bc the girl at that office is USELESS. I rather her NOT be there. They pay us both, plus I got 6 hrs of overtime out of it,all for something that could have been done in the normal 5 hrs had it been done right then. If you have a patient, and a computer make a damn appt. instead I had piles and piles of stuff to sort, organize, copy, and then I had to call those 35 patients to make appts plus everything else. I'm about to go over their heads to the owner but trying not to.
  • This sounds AWFUL! My boss is a total redneck and when I confirmed my time off for the wedding and honeymoon he actually said "oh you're still going through with that?" Hardy har har. The snide comments just NEVER get old. So sorry you're going through it, try to take it on the chin until you get an opportunity to discuss it with the owner. And in the meantime, come here and let the flood gates open.
