Invitation wording about no gifts.

This is our second marriage for both of us and we don't need anything, how do we tell our guests not to bring gifts?

Re: Invitation wording about no gifts.

  • Don't mention it anywhere. Just don't register and if people ask, you can answer that well wishes are the only gifts you would like.

You don't.  It is not appropriate to mention gifts in any way on an invitation-including "no gifts."

  • You don't. You don't mention gifts on the invitation anywhere, at all. You just don't. It's tacky and rude. You either don't create a registry, or create a very small one (surely there are upgraded versions of things you and your FI could use, such as a nicer coffeemaker or a fancier crockpot?) and spread the word that you don't want/need gifts. People will still probably give you gifts, but they might give you cash, which everyone can use.

Also, please lurk a little before you post next time. This particular question has been asked and answered DOZENS of times on this forum, which you'd know if you'd looked.
