Yesterday the klassy couple came over to our BBQ and were actually fun to be with. She also has a DJ business and set up her DJ booth. It was nice and fun.
They were talking to us about the weddings they do and they firmly believe that the Dollar Dance is a standard. My eyes got really big when they said this apparently and they asked me what I thought of them or what I was thinking. I said I think it's "tacky anytime someone asks me to pull out money at a wedding, especially if it's peer pressured over the microphone". They were completely silent. I guess I know what's coming up at their wedding...no big surprise there. Now, I think she is DJing her own wedding, so I am wondering if she's going to announce her own dollar dance.
Next up, we found out that they planned the RD for a time FI (who is their best man) is working. They didn't invite him to it because they assumed he wouldn't take it off. He's so very hurt that they made this assumption. He was quiet for a few hours of our party yesterday, I didn't know why until everyone left.
So, back to the DJ thing, I pulled out the paperwork our own DJ gave us and Dollar Dance is actually written on a checklist for what we can request. Have people seriously had dollar dances suggested by their DJs??
