NER - So, Four Days To Go...

I am REALLY REALLY calm. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

Everything's done except the seating chart (it's started, I'm finishing it tomorrow with my mom). We get into the hall tomorrow or Thursday to start setting up. Cookies are baked. Everything's ready.

Any last-minute advice?

I'm in the same boat with you!  Date twins, yay!

Other that picking up a couple more small items, my goal for the next couple days is to finish our programs, then on the day before the wedding, I'm making the bouquets and centerpieces (very simple ones).

I'm stressed about doing things, but not in a frantic way.  I'm not panicking or freaking out.  Just tired and ready for the honeymoon!

I guess the only advice for you and myself is just to enjoy it and savor it as much as possible.  I've waited so long for this day, and I know it's about to be over in the blink of an eye!

ETA:  Oh, and I'm *trying* to eat healthy, drink water, take vitamins, and get some sleep.  I haven't been completely successful, but I'm trying to feel my best for the day!

  • Oooh, drink water. That's a good one. I'm off all this week, and when I'm at work, I'm great about drinking tons of water, but when I'm not at my desk, I fail miserably. I need to make SURE to be on that the next few days.
  • @monkeysip and @domino04 Happy wedding week!  My advice is to try to stay busy this week, especially since you're off work.  I was very nervous the week of and I made sure to have little projects to keep my mind off the holy shit of it all!

Good luck ladies!  As a 3 day veteran of it all, it is a great whirlwind.  Try to enjoy every second and not worry about small things.  As soon as people start coming into town it gets really busy.  It didn't really hit me until I was in the bridal suite about to go downstairs for the ceremony.

  • So exciting! Just try to enjoy it as much as you can. It really does go super fast!

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Where are you, @monkeysip? If you were close to me, it would have been worth it to get together and have 17 cocktails. I want ALL the cocktails this week.
  • haha!  I'm in Houston.  It's dumb how it doesn't show our locations anymore.  I could go for some cocktails.

  • date twins! I am not drinking alcohol this week to avoid bloating, but I sorely wish I could. I am generally pretty calm, with waves of crazy nerves. I can't pick up my dress til Friday, and that is giving me some anxiety. Also, apparently I might as well have gotten married in the dead of August, since a heatwave is coming and it is supposed to be 90 degrees on Saturday! People keep saying that is better than rain, but I think crazy heat and humidity might tie rain for worst wedding weather. I hope all my makeup doesn't slide off and I hope I don't faint in my tight, heavy dress!

  • Oooh, where are YOU, nycrose2013? We are saying 83 right now...but zero chance of rain, so I'm VERY happy. I'll take it!

We will just have to drink from afar, monkeysip, because I'm in WV.

  • Yup, supposed to be 92 degrees.  With infamous Houston humidity!  But only a 10% chance of rain... so here's hoping no rain at least during our photos.  The rest of the wedding is indoors.

Cheers!  *Toasts a margarita to Domino, and non-alcoholic drink to nycrose*  :)

  • happy wedding week girls!  I was originally a June 1 bride, but changed to the 7th, so I have 10 more days to go!

ditto the drinking more water; and good advise to not drink alcohol (I may need to try that; lets see how the week goes, lol).

just have FUN and take in every moment.

My wedding ticker is giving me stress-induced diarrhea.
  • Ah, good luck everyone getting married this week! Definitely drink lots of water (and remember to stay hydrated and to eat during the wedding day too)!

    Best wishes!

The only advice I have is, at the end of your wedding day you and your FI will be married.  Everything else is just detail.  Don't let anything get you down!
  • Congrats! Enjoy every moment of the next few days :-)

  • congrats ladies!  How exciting :-)

Definitely ditto the water advice.  the thing I completely spaced on until the last minute was typing out the readings (we picked them months in advance but didn't have anything for the readers to actually read until maybe ten min before the rehearsal, haha), and don't forget your marriage license!

Try to just absorb every minute.  Give your camera to someone to snap photos during the rehearsal, RD, and other non-professionally photographed moments.  Let go of any minor things that don't go right - 99% of the people there won't even realize that it was supposed to be a different song or that the cake was supposed to have swirls not zigzags.  And steal a moment away with your husband (!!!!) to just smile and bask in your married-ness.  enjoy!

We brought a case of bottled water for photos and I'm glad I did because it was really hot. My legs were sticking to my slip.
