Wedding Woes

so H had a nice car accident this weekend.

wrecked a rental car, chipped a tooth. the whole shebang. he was attending a work event this weekend and was in a rental with a coworker, and got rear-ended at a red light. air bags deployed and everything. thankfully no one was seriously hurt, but he went in the ambulance to get checked out. the airbags deployed, so he is taking it seriously.

thank goodness it was not more serious. the coworker sprained his wrist bracing himself on the dashboard. i guess that's a natural reaction?

the bright side, it wasn't our personal car, so that's a blessing. things like this make me want to bubble wrap the 3 of us and never leave the house.

  • Oh yikes, I'm glad that everyone is mostly well, and that it wasn't more serious than it was!

  • Eeek!  Glad he is okay  But for some reason I imagine the rental car deal comes with its own set of headaches.

work deals with the hassle, especially since they took insurance. he had to take some days off for doctor follow ups to make sure eerthing on his body is in working order.

i hate other drivers. what are people doing instead of driving? no one stops at red lights or stop signs, but they stop at yield signs and turn into the wrong lanes. we're lucky if people use their directionals most days.

I'm glad you're ok, but darn that sucks.

    ugh.
(the Mr. had an accident at work recently and had to do the 'accident review' thing because their [now fired for unrelated reasons] safety guy said that some of it may have been his fault.
Apparently, if a bus driver is 100% stopped at a light, is clipped by a dude who then does a hit-and-run, it is still somewhat the driver's fault, according to safety guy.

the review committee, thankfully, is smarter than safety guy)

How frustrating, Wzz.  I'm glad he and his co-worker are OK.

The person who hit him had to have been going pretty fast for the airbags to deploy.  I guess it also depends on what kind of car they were in.

When I got rear ended last year in my SUV, she was going about 45MPH and her airbags deployed.  Mine did not.
  • I'm glad he and his co-worker are ok and that he shouldn't have to deal with the rental car headache.

  • Glad everyone's ok!  Last year, DH got rear-ended by an ancient old dude, got a rental that day, and ended up getting rear-ended in the rental the same day.  Luckily, the rental wasn't damaged that time.  I mean, two accidents in one day?  Universe is telling you to go home!
