To theme, or not to theme?

Help... Having a destination wedding on a cruise ship and am stuck for a theme that works. I am not even sure if I would be able to incorporate a theme with the wedding packages that the cruise lines offer. How important is it to have a theme for your wedding? I am open to any suggestions.

I don't think you need a theme at all. In my personal opinion a wedding never needs one; it's not a prom or a birthday party. The theme is: You're getting married! (And actually, your theme, without doing anything, is: I'm on a boat!) Don't worry about a theme and just enjoy it

I'll tell you one thing, you'll make your life a whole lot less stressful if you are just shopping for 'wedding themed stuff' versus 'wedding themed stuff in zebra pink'. More options, less clashing.

Another vote for skipping a theme. Just get married with pretty flowers and a pretty dress. your theme is marriage.
