New NEY Headline

It's not perfect but we FINALLY have a new headline! So long pre-planners (wishful thinking, I know).

Re: New NEY Headline

  • I feel like there should be a disclaimer: Must love to drink.

  • Not perfect, but that's a lot better!
  • Sooooo much better than the old one!

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • Finally. This is way better than the old one.
"You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you." -Ray Bradbury
  • Thank goodness.  Much better.
  • I'm gonna get stoned possibly, but it doesn't seem much better in the way of detering preplanners. Just my (possibly unpopular) opinion. "Dreaming of your wedding day but not yet engaged?" still makes me think of some girl sitting in her room Pinning her little tush off.

    I hope I'm wrong.

"His farts smell like Satan's asshole mixed with a skunk's vagina. But it's okay, because I love him." -CSousa

  • @beanbot2002, I think there's a difference in phrasing between "Dreaming of your wedding day" and "Planned your flowers, found your gown ... but not engaged?" One feels more like "every once in a while" and the other feels BSC.
  • Bean, I totally get what you're saying. It's not what it should be, but I do think it's a little bit better.
  • I think the new headline will not attract pre-planners like a magnet the way the old one would.

I don't think it will have any effect on BSCness, though.

  • It's an improvement for sure. Not perfect, but better and slightly more honest.
  • Yes definitely an improvement!

  • Agreed!  Definitely an improvement.  At least it doesn't flat out encourage unengaged women who have already bought their wedding dresses.  I'm okay with dreaming about a wedding--hell, I think I've been dreaming about mine since I was four :)

It's not totally perfect, but the BSC will happen no matter what the headline says and this one is much much better!

  • I definitely think it looks better than what it was before. Hopefully it decreases the amount of BSC pre-wedding planners we get in here.
  • It's not ideal but it's better.
I wonder what happened to the list of suggestions we created way back....

    Anniversary

  • Yeah, it's definitely not nearly as fucking bat shit crazy as the last one.

"Stuart was scared, but he loved Margalo, Mommy. And there is nothing bigger than love." -The Bean
"His farts smell like Satan's asshole mixed with a skunk's vagina. But it's okay, because I love him." -CSousa

  • Yes, this one is better. Still a little on the BSC side but I don't think they will give us one that isn't.

  • I wonder why they bothered asking us for input then on new headlines for this board then....

    Anniversary

  • @danser55 - to pretend like they want our input

  • I think Beth is right. We're always told to get buy-in on a project. By soliciting our advice, we feel invested (in theory). Then they just do whatever they were going to do.
  • When we brought it up in April, it apparently got completely ignored. I PMed KP the other day about the random deleted thread and mentioned the headline thing there and included @cu97tiger's suggestion that the majority of us seemed to like best. KP went with her own headline instead I guess.

  • Honestly, when I read it, I thought 'FINALLY.' No, it isn't what WE would want, but even though we are regulars, we don't run this board. They took what we had to say into account, and then had to make their own decision.

If you think about it objectively, 'dreaming about your wedding day' is something a crap-ton of people do, engaged or not. It doesn't immediately imply BSC, and the line doesn't seem to really encourage BSC either.
