Dessert buffett

We are planning to have a dessert buffet and would like to include non sweet items in our color theme which is pink orange and yellow, also we are looking to keep cost down on this since cake will be expenisve and we are adding cupcakes to buffet. Any suggestions, I am thinking popcorn as a cheap Jar filler. Our theme is very light non-stuffy fun laid back the decor will be chevron yellow and pinks and huge round balloons for backdrop.

If you're looking to keep costs down, just skip the dessert buffet.

Cake is fine for dessert. You don't need to provide extras. Cupcakes especially would be overkill.

Use the money you'd save from the dessert buffet and put it in to an upgrade to the bar and/or dinner.

  • I wouldn't just add food to coordinate with your color scheme.  That to me is weird.

To keep costs down eliminate the dessert buffet.  Just have cake and maybe ice cream on the side if you really want something else available for your guests.

  • it will be a Traditional Islamic wedding no drinking. Lots of good food an dessrt is what people look forward to.
  • Pretzels sounds good you mean they auntie Anne type pretzels or the hard kind?

I love the idea of popcorn. You could do several different savory and sweet flavors. Also what about a Chex or other party mix? Another idea is pretzels. We did salted and cinnamon sugar soft and hard pretzels with cheese, grainy mustard and chocolate dipping sauces as part of our late night snack.

    I second the flavored popcorn!!
  • I agree if your on a budget you should leave the dessert buffet out. Cake is more than enough for the dessert. : )
