Hey everyone! @KnotJackie and I sat down to
discuss recent questions/concerns that have come up over the past few weeks.
Here is what we have so far:
Mods – Our discussions the week
that we removed moderators moved pretty quickly and clashed with our updates
that were already scheduled. We are testing our system on our end to see if we
will be able to moderate boards the way we see fit. We are however reviewing
potential new roles for “moderators.” We will keep you updated, give us a few
weeks.
White Space on new format – While
we did review this with the design team, all 3 of our brands (including The
Nest and The Bump) are going to remain white with the board updates and we will
review the look once all have been rolled out.
Abuse Flag Identity – We removed abuse points today from accounts that
received unnecessary flags. On our moderation platform we can see where the
flags are coming from and will take appropriate action if abused. The flags will
remain anonymous on your end.
“Love it” Avatar Stickers – We are in discussion about bringing public
'love its' back.
DIY/Budget Boards – Our board changes are not only based on the comments
and PM's we receive. It's a group effort, so myself, KI and KJ are the more
visible part of everyone that makes decisions here. We share your input with
our team, but can't guarantee that all of it will always be met. At this time,
the DIY/Budget are staying combined. But like we said, nothing is permanent as
we test out the changes.
Categories of the boards – It is possible for us to completely get rid
of ‘Special Topics’ (Gay Weddings, Plus-Size Brides) and keep everything under ‘Wedding
Boards’, however we feel that this will hinder your mobile experience as the
list will be extremely long to scroll down. What would give you the best member
experience? We are able to change it on desktop and leave it alone on mobile.
