Wedding Program Wording Help!! (Divorced Parents & I'm confused!)

Hi Ladies,

I need a little help with wording our wedding program for church.

My fiancés parents have been divorced for over 15 years. My fmil still has the same last name as my ffil who is currently engaged.

My ffil's fiancé is the sweetest woman who has been very involved in my wedding plans and I would feel terrible leaving her out.

I have heard that I can word it

Mother of the groom--- fmil's name

Father of the groom-- ffil's name accompanied by his fiancé ______.

Does this sound right to anyone?

Thanks for any help!! :)

  • I think we need a little more information. Why are they being mentioned in the program at all?
    Anniversary

I'm gonna go with 'not my circus, not my monkeys.'
  • I feel like I always see parents in the wedding program...especially when they're seated as part of the ceremony. The wording you have sounds correct to me. Although, make sure that you use "fiancee" not "fiance" (one "e" indicates male).

Make sure that your FI is ok with anything you do though, since it is his father.

  • Skip listing them in the program. Problem solved.
  • H's parents are divorced, and this is what we did

    Parents of the Bride
    Mr and Mrs. T

    Parents of the Groom
    Mr and Mrs. Y
    Mr and Mrs. B

In your case, definitely include your FFIL's fiance on the same line as your FFIL.
