Recommendations for intimate wedding venues in Boston?

My fiance and I are in the early planning stages for our wedding, and it looks like we will have a maximum of 50 guests.  We are looking for an outdoor setting in the fall of 2011.  Does anyone have suggestions for great venues in this guest range? Thank you!

We got married at The College Club of Boston, which is about a block away from the Public Garden (where you could do the ceremony), on Comm Ave. We had 70 people, but they can hold up to 100, I believe. I have pics in my blog below, let me know if you have any questions.

The Boston Public Garden is open for permits for weddings until December 1. They allow 50 people at a time for an event. I don't know all the details, since you have to apply in the same calendar year in which you plan to use the permit (we're getting married May 2011), but check it out if you're thinking of an outdoor wedding.

Check out the Hampshire House. It's an interesting location and right on the commons. Downside- the Cheers Bar is directly next door so there's a bunch of tourists lurking around.

My venue would work well for you - Roughwood estate at Pine Manor College. We got married last October, beautiful grounds all turning amber colors... it's a historic mansion in Chestnut Hill. We had the ceremony outside, and the reception inside. The Founders Room holds 80 max for a seated dinner with dancing (we did a cocktail reception for 100 with limited seating and it wasn't cramped at all). They've also got a beautiful patio you can use - we staged it with bistro tables and lanterns. I've got tons of photos in my bio if you're interested. Only thing is - they don't do a ton of weddings anymore, so you really need to come in with your own coordinator - I was heavily involved in every detail of my wedding, so I just had a DOC.

I would agree that Mistral would be a perfect venue for your size.  I just got married at the Liberty Hotel and it was pretty intimate setting. We had the ceremony in the courtyard, cocktail hour on the 5th floor atrium, and the reception in the ballroom. It was sooo much fun.

Hampshire House is also great, just a little pricey.
    Good Luck.

We are getting married on May 14, 2011 at Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary in Belmont. It is gorgeous - it has beautifully landscaped gardens for an outdoor ceremony and a Georgian style house for the dinner, or you can have the caterers set up dinner outdoors (or you can do it all indoors). Definitely check it out if you want a beautiful setting with fall's changing leaves as a backdrop.

Thanks so much guys - these are beautiful options!  Sorry to have been so slow responding - I've been out of the country but it's back to planning now :)
