How much to list on the program?

These are the headings for each section of the ceremony...I copied and pasted them out of the document that has the whole ceremony:

PRELUDE
PROCESSIONAL
ENTRANCE OF THE BRIDE
PROLOGUE
THE GIVING OF THE BRIDE
PRAYER
SCRIPTURE READING: I CORINTHIANS 13
MEDITATION
STATEMENT OF INTENTION
THE EXCHANGE OF RINGS AND VOWS
LIGHTING OF THE UNITY CANDLE
DECLARATION OF MARRIAGE
PRAYER OF BLESSING
SEALING THE MARRIAGE
INTRODUCTION OF THE COUPLE
RECESSIONAL

That looks like ALOT and I'm guessing that some of these probably don't need to be listed on the programs, like the sealing of the marriage?  What should I take out and what should I leave in?  And am I missing anything??

Thanks!!

Holly

Re: How much to list on the program?

  • I always figured if I did programs, I would put as much as possible in them. Otherwise, I don't really see the point.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I think that looks fine, honestly. When it's on your actual program it won't look like a ridiculously long list.

Our programs had the following on the left side:

    Prelude
    Processional
    Bridal Processional
    -"Songbird", Fleetwood Mac
    Welcome
    Remembrance
    Definition of Marriage
    Declaration of Intent
Reading - Aunt So and So
    -"Love" by Roy Croft
    Exchange of Vows
    Exchange of Rings
    Declaration of Marriage
Presentation of the Bride and Groom
    Recessional
-"All You Need is Love", The Beatles

And on the right side we listed the officiant, parents of the bride, parents of the groom, grandmothers, maid of honor, best man, bridesmaids, and groomsmen.
