Planning a wedding in 150 days or less? Any tips??

First I feel like I should disclose, there isn't a need for me to rush a wedding.  I just know I am not loving the wedding planning and to speed it up and just be married to my love sounds ideal  (not to mention the out of season dicsounts)! :)

We have a venue that we like open and available with our names penciled in.  And a couple caterers that we are interested in who are available.  So the 2 bigges pieces (that I can think of) are in place.

My only panic is possibly in finding a dress.

Has anyone else out there planned a wedding in 150 days or less?  I would love to hear tips or things I haven't thought of to worry about yet. :) Thanks a lot!!

  • Vows in Watertown for a fast dress.... They have sample sizes of designer dresses and also their own line (liv Harris). My dress pretty much fits just minor alterations needed and I walked out with my dress two weeks later (they send it out to get cleaned and pressed). Good luck with your planning.... We have a 9 month engagement for the same reasons.... I hate all this planning so this way I make a decision and move on pretty quickly... No agonizing over invites etc....
  • This weekend brides against cancer will be in cambridge they have discounted dresses and i did the event in dc it was a great time snd i love ny dress
  • I have a friend who planned a wedding in three months, so it can definitely be done.  Make sure you get your biggest vendors early: venue, catering, photography, DJ, baker.  I think I got my dress within 4 months of ordering it.  Defintely go dress shopping ASAP and make sure the consultant knows your time schedule.  If you are having a WP, you'll want to take them dress shopping soon also.

    Good luck!

  • You will be fine! We planned our amazing wedding in 6 months. My MOH planned hers in 3 months. No need for a year long engagement if that is not what you want. I agree with pp, try Vows in Watertown, Davids Bridal and Alfred Angelo should also be able to get your dress in time-and bridesmaids dresses. Start contacting other vendors (DJ, photo, video, florist, church/officiant, linens, limo, etc) to make sure you have those booked and then you will be golden. As long as you get everything booked asap, you will be all set. Have fun!! Congratulations!!
  • Such awesome advice I am feeling better already!!  Thanks for all the input, I will definitely try Vows and also the Brides against Cancer event sounds like a great thing to check out, count me in :)  Thanks everyone!!!
  • we love our photographer. we just had our e pics and they are amazing.  portrait new england they will customize the package for you

  • contact genevieve bergeron photography. She was awesome for my wedding and she works to get you exactly what you want. She has fast turnaround time and she offers all weddings their engagement pictures. You literally get them in days to view and then if you get your pictures she has them in less than a week. I had mine in 4 days. My wedding was in her studio before I got back from my honeymoon. She also referred tons of vendors to me and I loved them all. I took about 6 months but she literally handled my timeline and calling my venue to make sure everything was set for me. Including my dj. I loved her.
