Who was Greek in college?

I just saw this in another post.

I was, but it is a local sorority solely at our college.

And @lplions, FI's sister was Greek @ Purdue (Don't know which though)

My dad was SigEp in college, as was FI's brother (at another college). FI was not.

  • My school didn't even have a Greek system at all!

  • I'm a brother of Kappa Kappa Psi (KKPsi).  KKPsi is a national honor fraternity for bandsmen.  Our sister sorority is Tau Beta Sigma (TBS).

I 'pledged' at my Junior College (Iota Sigma chapter), served as the secretary for a year there, and was going to transfer to the chapter at Sam Houston State University...but, pregnancy kind of halted all of that!!  :p  Damn kid!  LOL!!

I was actually selected to perform with the national honor band at our national convention the summer of '97, but couldn't afford to go to Arizona.  BOO!!

    AEA!  Strive for the highest!

    I know.  I'm a nerd.  I embrace my nerd-dom!

@shaylagirl I ALMOST was a brother. Gamma Pi was going through a phase of major issues, and I chose not to be part of it. It's make a MAJOR turn around since then, and I do partly regret not rushing. But seriously. Why would a French horn player be a sister? Please. Horns are (pretty much always) brothers.

I was not in the Greek system, though. Had I rushed, it would've been KKPsi.
  • When I first got to college, I thought that i would never be greek.  Mainly because the sororities on our campus were your stereotypical MTV-esque sororities and I didn't see myself a part of that.  Thankfully, there were a lot of other girls that felt the same way, so they began to colonize and started a new sorority.  I had the amazing opportunity to be a founder of our chapter of Alpha Xi Delta.  I'm so glad I was able to be greek in college, some of my best friends are now my sisters, it's an incredible bond.

  • I was a member of the National Historical Honors society... Phi Alpha Theta. Otherwise, nope.

  • Oh. I lied. I'm in Epsilon Pi Tau. Honors technology thing. (Honestly no idea if it's a frat or a sorority. We had "initiation" and that was it. No meetings, no get togethers. I just have a pin and dues I pay, lol.

I was also in Phi Kappa Phi, which was the same type of thing. I attended a ceremony, but it wasn't a social organization.

None of my sorority sisters from my social sorority (Alpha Iota Chi) are in the bridal party, but a few of them are invited to the wedding.

YUP!  I know people think it's weird when I tell them I'm a brother (my Big Brother's name is Gina and my little brother's name is Brandi), but..there's a DIFFERENCE in which you pledge to, at least for KKPsi vs TBS.  Granted, I -had- to pledge KKPsi since we didn't have TBS, but I wouldn't have pledged TBS any which way.

I'm a brother!  I'm a tomboy, and I fit in better with them.

Plus, hells yeah!  Horn players are unique throughout the band/orchestra.  I mean, haters gonna play trumpet..or sax...winners gonna play horn.

    ...something like that.  :)
  • My colleges didn't have Greek life, but Bennington did have a Nude Activities Club.

My dad's SAE, my mom's AOPi and my sister's Kappa Kappa Gamma.

  • I was Swedish and still am. Does that count?
Yes. And I'm Swedish as well.

  • So, for whatever reason I can't post on TK when I'm at work (pout!)

I was also Phi Kappa Phi (general honors), Omicron Delta Epsilon (Economics), Gamma Sigma Alpha  (Greek Honors), and Delta Mu Delta (Business).  I was a greek geek, I suppose.
