Venue price negotiation

I am wondering if any of you had experience with negotiating price with the venue vendor and how successful you are?

A lot of them have "packages" and we don't always want everything that's included in there or hoping to cut the cost if at all possible.

Thanks!

There were certain things we didn't want that came in our package and our venue was great about taking things out and reducing the price slightly. We figured it couldn't hurt to ask and it worked out for us!

Our venue was great about swapping things around! They even got us something that was not even made there too!

We didn't have to negotiate! They threw SO much into our package!

Other venues we visited were not really trying to work out any kind of deal, but you have to at least try!

It doesn't hurt to ask... we managed a free chair upgrade with a little pursuading... I honestly almost vomited at the ugly chairs that came with the package and I refused to get chair covers hahaha

we were able to negotiate a TON...but I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that we had a January wedding..

...but at our prewedding meeting (2 weeks before the weddign) they added SO MUCH stuff for us...

the girls are right..it can't hurt to try

We tried, and our venue wouldn't budge on cost for plate, appetizer swapping - nothing! They only thing they did for us was lower the minimum person requirement - and they only did that by 10 people!
