Videographer

I'm struggling with this decision! I'm just about at budget, have about $500 left... Obviously it's going to be more than that... So any thoughts

Re: Videographer

  • We are going with langdon. They can do ceremony only for about that budget or full day for $895

  • It depends on how many hours...$500 can get the ceremony covered easy. I've spent like 2 weeks watching nonstop videos and emailing different videographers. I narrowed it down to Light Source Films and SoCal Wedding Photography and Video. Both have been quick and easy to contact.
  • Can i ask how much light source is quoting?

  • This may not be a route you want to go but a suggestion is using one of those semi-DIY companies like WedIt, FlipAHit, Storymix, etc. Guests take videos and then they will create an edited reel for you from the footage provided.

We just need ceremony only...he quoted $400 (up to 2 hours, 2 cameramen, 3 cameras, edited Blu-ray disc).
  • Thank you pnutbutr!

Emilia I'll check out some of these options!

  • I used Langdon and we're so happy with the final video.
  • I love watching Langdon videos on YouTube. They are just beautiful. So happy we have booked with them!

  • I cannot afford much for a videographer either, and have looked into these options. I like that Storymix has a smartphone app so video can be taken that way also in addition to the flip cams.
  • I just found Urban Wedding Company...so far I am loving what I see...trying to keep in under $1000! its such a hard choice!

  • Definitely get video even if it's cheap.  Some video, even if not that great, is still far better than no video.  You don't watch it all that often but you'll be glad you did it when you do sit down to reminisce.  Ours didn't turn out as well as I'd have liked but I still love it.  Fortunately we got the videography company to give us all the raw footage, which is actually mostly good, and a friend who does videography is going to re-edit it for us.

  • My ceremony video is included in our package but I'm still iffy about a videographer for the reception. I would love to have it but my family is from Kentucky and they get rowdy as it is when they drink so do I really want it on video??? Anyone else have this problem?

They have good work...I was looking into their sister company, Tie the Knot Media (based in AZ). They were running a special for allday coverage for $600. I think it went up to $1100...I should've booked them when I had the chance!

  • I am going to book with urbane I'm pretty sure, it's just under 1000 for all day coverage, they make a highlight video for you and then you also get all the footage.
