DJ HELP

Hi All!

Our wedding is next June of 2014 and we are hoping to book a DJ pretty soon. Does anyone have any good recommendation of DJ's in CT??

Thanks!!!

Re: DJ HELP

  • Djae Melee!!!!!
  • I second DJ Melee!!

Before someone else says it, yes he does get busy, and yes sometimes communication can be a bit challenging, HOWEVER with that said, if I owned my own business and was crazy busy like him, I can see it. When it comes down to it on your wedding way he delivers 100% and then some!!

When it came to our wedding day he was amazing!

Not only did he do an amazing job DJ'ing our wedding reception but he also set up our outside lakefront ceremony in the coldest weather possible right after Hurricane Sandy. He helped us with the ceremony sound as well as wireless mics which the sound was perfect for all our guests.

Also during the wedding we had some guests with odd requests and he truly respected that it was our day and cleared everything first with my husband and I.

Check him out, you won't regret it!

    Happy Planning!!
  • We are using Todd from Jock in the Box.  While we haven't seen him DJ yet (he'll actually be playing at a friend's wedding in July), our meeting with him was great and all communication with him has been awesome! Extremely responsive and really flexible with whatever you want your DJ to be on your day. :-)

I had tried DJMalee but he was so super busy that he couldn't somehow find a good time to meet with us (and this was Sept/Oct last year) and he had someone else book him in the process of trying to set up a meeting (it was like over 2 weeks of back and forth with not a great response time from his end to try and set up a meeting- was a little frustrating).  Just my two cents on him.

  • We used Djae Melee and we were very happy. Yes, as others as said, communication can be a challenge, but it was worth it. And frankly, with his online planner, there really wasn't much need for a bunch of back and forth prior to the wedding anyways. We just did a quick phone call to make sure everyone was on the same page.

We also met with Todd. He was great. We liked him, but he was  more expensive then what Jae quoted us. So that's the only reason we didn't go with him.

  • DJae Melee vote here.
  • DJ Kurt has my vote. He's done my sister's wedding and my uncle's and will be my DJ (hoping he has my date!). He's a good family friend and is just a great guy to work with. He changed his name though so if you google search him it's CT DJ Kurt Entertainment, not Fun Factory DJs.

  • Rent-A-DJ did my best friend's wedding and my brother's wedding, and will be doing ours on Dec. 14, 2013.  They are very reasonably priced and will work with you for whatever kind of involvement you want/don't want for the wedding.
  • I just met with DJ Camera Lights in Milford and they are great!! I got my photography and dj and lighting all with the same company.
