MGM Grand vs. Flamingo

I am trying to decide between having my wedding ceremony at MGM Grand on the Terraza OR at The Flamingo at their Garden Gazebo.  I am estimating having 100 guests.  Can anyone weigh in and offer some advice?? THANKS!

Re: MGM Grand vs. Flamingo

  • I never looked at MGM..but I have booked my wedding for May at the Garden Gazebo at the flamingo and I loved it right when I saw it and it looks even better in person!

  • Both would be really nice, I don't think you can go wrong with either.  I personally like the location of Flamingo better because it's more center strip and the rooms are probably going to be a bit cheaper for guests.
We had our dream wedding at Mirage on May 3, 2014!

  • Another Flamingo Garden Gazebo chapel bride here too. I picked flamingo because they allow outside vendors

  • Speaking of rooms for flamingo I was looking online I think on Monday and for the dates during my wedding rooms start at only 99! I thought that was so cheap! I felt like calling all my guests and telling them to book before they go up lol

Didn't see the MGM chapel but I stayed there previously and liked the hotel overall. Our room was nice, buffet was yummy, and we saw the lion habitat before they closed. I looked at their packages early on, some of which I was interested in. However, I didn't send an inquiry to find out how lenient they are with outside vendors, a la carte services, etc.

I haven't seen the Flamingo chapel either nor been inside the hotel, but when looking into them, I did find out that they allow outside vendors but for a fee (wanted outside photographer). Location wise they are perfect since they're center strip.

I have heard they are both beautiful so you probably can't go wrong in that regard. Have you contacted either of them to see if they offer what you want?
  • I had my wedding at the MGM chapel and it was a great experience. Can't speak about the Terraza, though, bc I didn't see it. The coordinators and staff are great. Yes, it's a bit off from the center of the Strip, but if you don't mind walking a bit, then it shouldn't be a big deal. They gave us 15% off all the rooms with a code when we booked, so most of the rooms were between $75-85 (that was in March). I can't say enough good things about our experience there. :)

Actually, I think it's pretty expensive for the Flamingo. We booked for a whole week and paid $460 (7nights). So that's about $66/night!

The Go rooms are pretty nice.  I would not stay in the standard room and also don't like the Fab rooms.  I have some pics from the last time I stayed in one:

  • I believe Flamingo is owned by the same company that owns Caesars.  One of the reasons that I went with Caesars was that you are allowed outside vendors and you get a discount code for your guests for any Caesars property.  I felt that by doing so it would allow my guest to pick a hotel within their budget and not feel obligated to stay at the same hotel that we are staying at.  Plus their location on the strip is awesome.  Hope that helps!
  • I just stayed in a Flamingo GO room last month and it was really nice. My husband and I were really impressed. We had friends who stayed at Paris and upgraded their room, we thought ours was way nicer :-p
