Anyone having their evening beverage?

It's almost the weekend! I've had quite the busy, fun-filled week. The school year is coming to a close--only 5 more sleeps before I'm free! The students are starting to sit back and dress more scandalously (due to the weather..), so I'm sure they are as ready to end as I am.

How's your week been going? What are you drinking tonight...or what do you wish you were drinking tonight?

Re: Anyone having their evening beverage?

  • Hi! I wish I was drinking a mojito but I cut out drinking for the summer to lose weight...I'm regretting that decision! I'm actually putting together materials for the classes I teach in the fall. I'm over-obsessing about it this summer because I don't have much else going on lol

    What do you teach?

  • I'm drink some white wine, it's a reisling from trader Joe's and it's only ok.

  • I am a special education teacher at a middle school. I am part of a team of teachers (english, math, science & s.s.) and I co-teach a track of classes, along with resource and academic support. It's great.

I'm drinking a sam summer, but a mojito sounds great! I will probably collect/hoard way too many teaching supports over the summer. I used to buy so much from teacherspayteachers. So awesome thar you teach!!
  • @danser55, I wish Trader Joe's sold alcohol up here in RI. I have heard of the 2 buck chuck, but I have never been able to try it. I guess it's not worth it? :-(
  • I wish Colorado had Trader Joe's at all. I hear people talk about it all the time!

Oooh @bethsmiles, trader joe's is great compared to whole foods. It just seems to be less expensive but equally as good. There is only one location in my state.
  • Yeah Whole Foods is WAY too expensive for me! They opened one right by where BF lives but we never go because it costs to much. My mom likes to shop at Whole Foods when she comes to visit (they have weird protein pretzels she loves) but that's really the only time I go.

  • I have a few friends that frequent the cafe and rave about it, in comparison to the Panera nearby. I just buy my food from the local deli, Stop & Shop and Aldi. Do you have Aldi near you?
  • @500days it's actually not the three buck chuck that stuff is always pretty good ironically it was another brand a bit more expensive.  I forget which brand i'm not near the bottle.

We went out to dinner tonight, and I had a white peach sangria. 'Twas good.

ETA: And now I have cat in my lap (she's obsessively bathing my right arm - the pain) and BF is taking a nap. All is well this evening. Hope everyone is getting a little of this peace!

    I don't think so. I love Panera.

  • @KeptInStitches - That sounds yummy! I love anything with peach in it! Where did you go to dinner?

  • @bethsmiles - We went to Applebee's. I had the best service I've had there in a very long time - the waiter kept addressing BF and me as "sir" and "miss." Really super-polite and quick on the ball. I will have to ask for him again.
  • @bethsmiles I love Panera too. Nobody comes between me and the bread bowl of broccoli and cheese!
  • @KeptInStitches - I love it when BF and I go out and we get a great service. It really makes the whole evening just that much more enjoyable.

  • white peach sangria sounds really good

  • @KeptInStitches That sounds like a great night out. The Applebee's near me is always so busy that I just automatically go to a local restaurant. I do have a small obsession with their Brewtus sized beers and the quesadilla burger.
  • We have an Aldi near us. DH loves it but I love Wegmans. unfortunately in MD we can't buy alcohol at the grocery store. @500days - where in RI do you live? MY FAMILY IS GOING TO nARRAGANSETT (damn caps lock on my phone) on vacation this summer.

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • @cu97tiger, I live outside of Providence and about 25 minutes from Narragansett. You can drive through the state (top to bottom) in 40 minutes! RI has the best beaches in NE...my friends that live in Arlington and Cambridge drive down here for beach days. Does your family have a beach house? There's like 2 hotels in the area, so almost everyone stays at a beach house.
  • @500days I spent lots of weeks in RI when I was a kid. My aunt and uncle live there and my uncle's dad lives on Route 1, just a five minute walk from the beach, so that's where we're staying. I'm really looking forward to it!

@cu97tiger That's awesome that you come up here for vacation. It's like a hidden gem location! Do you happen to stay by Bonnet Shores? or go to the beach near the Towers? I'm not BSC but my dream is to have my wedding at the Towers:

    super pretty...
  • @500days - Yes, we go to the beach near the Towers. I bet that would be a gorgeous place to get married! I've probably sat on the beach right about where this picture was taken from!
