Probably premature, but I'm excitedddd!

So nothing is set in stone (or even close yet!), but I have a hunch that I figured out where we're going to get hitched!

I talked to a Banquet Manager today at a place that was at the very top of my list (gorgeous, great food, hotel right next door) and they quoted me below our price range (which is great since our price range is actually out of our price range and we would have been eating ramen noodles for the next year or two)!  I still have to visit when I head back in a few months, but I really think this is it :)

    It's probably going to be Fall of 2014 (I think October).  I wanted Spring of 2015 because I thought it would give us more time to save and plan, but FI is strongly opposed to a 2 year engagement (he actually wants to marry me haha, go figure) so the compromise we agreed upon is late next year.

    My BF is really opposed to a long engagement too...it's a big part of why we aren't engaged yet!

    Could you do Spring 2014 or is that not enough time? October weddings are so beautiful though! Fall is my favorite season.

    What's with these crazy guys wanting to get married?!  :)

    I would love to do next Spring, but I just don't think it's enough time to do it from California.  Plus, I think we'll probably end up moving back to NY next summer (just based on when our lease is up and whatnot), so that would just be a nightmare.  I think October will be perfect timing-wise and the weather should still be nice enough!

    Do you think you'll go for Fall when the time comes since it's your favorite?

    Gorgeous venue, and so awesome that it's below budget! Of COURSE he wants to marry you, silly :) Sometimes they show it in the weirdest ways though, haha. Glad planning is getting off to a good start.

    We would do fall but we know it won't work for a lot of our VIPs because of school. So we will probably go for late Summer. We really want to be able to do engagement pictures in the fall though.

    Beautiful venue, congrats!  We planned our wedding in CA in less than 10 months.  I love spring weddings but fall will be great especially since you have an indoor option.  Happy planning!

    Gorgeous venue! I think Fall is a great time. Originally, FI and I were thinking spring 2014 as well but there were a couple things that changed our minds to moving it up to November 2013 and now that we did that we are so glad it's sooner than later.

    Your venue is stunning! One word of caution - make sure you know what is and is not included in their price. It may be less expensive than you thought for a reason. I know some places around here charge you rental fees for tables/chairs/lighting, etc. Just a tip.

    Enjoy the rest of your planning! It goes so fast!

    @Allusive007 Thanks so much for the tip!  I actually know the guy that quoted me so I don't think he would have left that out, but you never do know.  I always think to ask about the obvious things like food and booze, but it didn't even cross my mind to ask about the chairs and lighting!

    ETA:  Because I'm having a quoting fail :(
