Mothers wanting different things

So my future mother in law wants to make all the invitations herself. Which is great however my mother just keeps saying it going to look cheap. any suggestions to make it look better. Like which type of paper??

    If your FMIL doesn't even know what type of paper to buy for an invitation, there is no way I would let her do my invitations. 

    Why does she want to make the invitations? What do you want for invitations?

    I agree with the posts above, figure out what you want first....but I made my invitations on my own. However, I have a family friend that was able to design them with Illustrator. And I ordered all of the paper from cardsandpockets.com. the paper quality was fantastic! It was alot of work though...start to finish it probably took 4-6 weeks total to print, cut, hand-write everything, and glue. Plus I am going to grad school through it all! ha
