Guess what I think I'm getting on our wedding day??

My period.

Pretty sure. Don't want to go on BC to fix this, but it appears the timing will land basically on that day. Fun!

Re: Guess what I think I'm getting on our wedding day??

  • You and me both!

Although, I'm not sure yet.  What with having my IUD removed 2 weeks ago, and I'm STILL waiting on my first period off that...I just don't know.  I do know around my date is 'about' when I'd get my little period with my IUD in.

Sooo...I'm kind of hoping we're pregnant before the wedding (does this make me look classless?  I've just got NO standards, huh?  LOL).  Because I don't know how to possible manage doing pad/tampon changes on that particular day.

Maybe with the stress of the wedding, it'll hold yours off for a few days?  :|  I know mine used to be influenced by my stress level.
  • yeah mine right now is going to land right on that day too.. and we're going on our honeymoon the day after.. hopefully it will change a little by that time!

  • I hadn't really thought about it - but I just did the math.  I will get mine three days AFTER the wedding and will have it during the honeymoon.  Not really that big of a deal - Phew!

  • I never know when my "favorite little friend" will show up.  So far I've missed last month and looks like I will this month too (this is normal for me because of my PCOS and I'm not on BC).  So it will be a crap shoot to see what happens!  LOL

  • So happy that I've been able to get around Mother Nature with my new pills. :) (I know, brag brag brag.)
  • I might also, but I wear a cup, so I don't worry about leakage or changing all. day. long. It's wonderful! Everyone should try a cup!

  • I actually was just thinking that if we didn't get knocked up, I'd buy a Diva or a Moon cup so I don't have to worry about fussing with changing a pad or a tampon.

This is why I miss my Mirena already.  :(
  • Okay - I have no idea what a cup is. I have never heard of it in my life, but let me just say, it sounds really gross.

(for the record I don't get periods because I am on depo, and then I am on the pill and will plan to skip it if it falls that way)

  • I've been watching on the calendar to see where it'll fall and will adjust my pills accordingly. With how bad my PCOS is, me not being on the pill isn't an option so I luck out there and can control it.

  • Yep looks like if my cycle stays where it's at I won't start until the day we leave for the honeymoon...fun times.  However we want to start trying to get pregnant pretty quick and I may even stop my BC's in September...going to talk to my doc about it next month at my appt.

The cup is the only thing I'd ever want to use because it's not nearly as nasty as shoving a chemical-drenched wad of cotton up your vagina.

  • @SewInLoveWithDMB just read through it. Very interesting - I am surprised that I am 26 years old and have never once heard of this. Definitely something to think about, but it still seems kind of icky too me. (all period stuff is icky though, really)

  • I have considered the cup, not to get too graphic but is it difficult to use or clean?

My friend had her ladystorm (awesome word, lol) on her wedding day, it didn't seem to cause her too many problems since she was wearing some pretty hefty control-top undergarments that kept things from getting, uh, out of control. She didn't seem to have a problem with changing things out either, and her dress was a pretty full a-line/ball gown.

  • Ackkkl I keep worrying about that too. I too have pcos but it's not regulated so it's a surprise when ever that day turns up :(

Not at all! Your fingers get a little dirty depending on flow, but that's what soap's for. I have a cup that I use to hold it while I finish doing my bzns, then I wash it in the sink with a soft soap and put it right on up there again. I only have to change it once or twice a day. At the end of my period, I just boil it for a few minutes, let it dry on a clean towel, put it in its cotton bag then store it in the cleaned holding cup. It's wonderful.

  • I "adjusted" my lady storm time with my pills to be most convenient for the wedding/honeymoon (did this back in February I think when I switched pills). One less thing to have to worry about! Should happen 2 days after when we get back from the honeymoon now :)

  • I'm trying to figure out how to work "ladystorm" into a completely 'normal' conversation just to throw people off.

I may attempt it tonight with FI just to screw with him.
